70657 Ninjago City Docks is a LEGO Ninjago Movie set that was released in most countries on January 1, 2018, and on August 1st, 2018 in the US and Canada, along with the Season 9 sets. It was released as an expansion set for 70620 Ninjago City.
It includes Ninja Force Lloyd, Lord Garmadon, High School Cole, Mystake, Black Training Dareth, Spinjitzu Training Lil' Nelson, Chad, Runme, Betsy and her baby, Chan Kong-Sang, Runde, Runje, Private Puffer, a small boat and a segment of the Ninjago City Dockside. The Docks feature a pier with a small crane, a food stall, two houses, a sculptor's workshop, Grand Sensei Dareth's Mojo Dojo, an arcade, and Mystake's Tea Shop.

- This is the second set of the line of Ninjago City modular buildings that can be combined to create a greater cityscape. The others are 70620 Ninjago City also from The LEGO Ninjago Movie, 71741 Ninjago City Gardens from Ninjago: Legacy, and 71799 Ninjago City Markets and 71837 Ninjago City Workshops from Ninjago: Dragons Rising.
- This set comes with Dareth, Lil' Nelson, and Mystake, three characters from the show who never appeared in the movie.
- There is an exclusive casual variant of Cole included.
- The torso resembles a jacket that wasn't featured in the movie but was seen in concept art for the film from The Making of the Movie book.
- Much like 70620 Ninjago City, the stickered elements of this set includes some references to Ninjago and other past LEGO themes.
- The explorers' house has two maps; one is of the island of Mata Nui from Bionicle appears on a map, with its name spelled out in the Matoran alphabet, and the other is of Ninjago. The house also has a framed painting of 70618 Destiny's Bounty.

- The exterior of the arcade has five interchangeable billboards; two of them are are "breaking news" posters of the ninja and Garmadon respectively, one of these references Adventurers, advertising "Thunder Adventure Tours", another references Ultra Agents and the last one advertises the roof-top sushi bar on 70620 Ninjago City.
- Three 1x2 tiles represent cards of Ninja Force Zane, Lord Garmadon, and a Squid Warrior from Atlantis.
- A signed picture of Johnny Thunder from Adventurers (in his Minifigures Series 19 form) appears in Mystake's house.
- Within the Mojo Dojo are two photos. One is of Dareth meeting a minifigure that resembles Bruce Lee and the other is Dareth wearing Garmadon's movie helmet, a possible reference to Dareth wearing the Helmet of Shadows in "Rise of the Spinjitzu Master".
- In the small alley hangs a poster with the letters ADU and a spaceship. This is a reference to Alien Conquest, another Lego Theme. The spaceship is the same as the one from set 7066 Earth Defence HQ. The letters ADU stand for Alien Defense Unit, the protagonists of Alien Conquest.
- The pillar at the bottom right depicts the words fresh seafood and an arrow to the right. This refers to the seafood stalls situated on the ground level of 70620 Ninjago City, which can be connected to this set.
