Trivia[]
- Despite being released over a year before "Day of the Departed" was released, this set pays homage to the ending scene of the special, which depicts the Temple of Airjitzu being cleansed after the Rift of Return is closed. The ninja then decide to use the temple as a base, which is depicted in this set.
- In several promotional images for the set, Cole is accidentally featured twice on the images.
- This is the first Shop-at-Home-exclusive Ninjago set.
- The Postman, Claire, and Jesper are exclusive to this set, as are these variants of Wu, Misako and Dareth.
- This is the first appearance of Misako and the Postman as minifigures, despite being a part of the series for about three to four years prior to this set's release.
- This is also Dareth's first appearance in a major set. Previously, he was only released in a polybag containing him, a trophy, and a Nindroid.
- In this set, Dareth a more generic face, one that was first used on the Mayor from LEGO's Fusion theme, while in the polybag he had an accurate face print unique to him. This is because a polybag is merchandise rather than a regular set, and merchandise has more freedom due to how many prints need to be made.[3]
- This set includes Claire and Jesper, two characters who are not present in the TV series.
- This is the second non-promotional Ninjago set to feature no antagonists, the first being the 2516 Ninja Training Outpost.
- This is the largest Ninjago set based on something from the TV series.
- In front of the temple are three Chinese flags which translate to:
- 均衡 - Jūnhéng - balanced
- 正袤 - Zhèng mào - a positive expanse
- 名誉 - Míngyù - reputation
- This is the first Ninjago set to have all of the original six ninja.
- In one of Brent Miller's videos, Miller interviewed one of the LEGO designers who said that it took 16 months to design the set.[citation needed]
- Claire and Jesper's bios were written by Tommy Andreasen.[4]
- The glider that is featured in this set is nearly identical to the glider in the 1999 Ninja set, 1187 Glider. However, according to Michael Knap, it can double as one of Jay's gliders as well.[5]
