Designer's notes[]
"In the beginning of 2019 I moved to NINJAGO and with that a dream came true: I always loved the wild creativity it offered amongst the LEGO themes, and boy, was I looking forward to the adventure to come!
Right away I got entrusted with the epitome of a NINJAGO set and was soon working away on the big hero dragon, this time for Jay. A daunting task, a welcome challenge, and a great opportunity to hit the ground running, I decided to pair the new Cyber aesthetic with increased poseability and – after a joking remark by my manager – even managed to add a pair of spring shooters.
Having spent weeks on it I'm delighted how the trigger mechanism worked out: No matter the angle of the body segments it will fire the spring shooters reliably. And since it uses a rubber element it even feels nice ;-)
I even managed to squeeze in a small NPU: Two R2-D2-legs are being used for the cheekbones, and it is quite pleasing how they fit snugly under the 4x3 wedge that creates the dragon's eye brows.
