"The Tournament of Elements is one of my personal favorite seasons. With this set, I wanted to mimic a bit of the same style of a set that I did with the gamers market where it's a figure pack with a smaller build to it. However, I wanted to beef up the build a bit more and keep it as close to the reference of the interior in Master Chen's palace as possible. The build itself is made so you have the opportunity to connect more together and create a full circle, in that way you could create the iconic scene where the elemental masters have to find one of the first Jade blades. The intention was to throw in as many references to the individual story beets as possible within the restraints of the size of the set. The centerpiece is inspired by the Jade-blade holder in Chen's palace. The Book is a reference to Claus's spell book with the page that he uses to transform into Anakondrai. The small crate has a pair of rollerblades as a reference to the Ninja Roll episode. The tree to the side is a reference to Gravis's fight against Turner, I had it in pink for a long time but changed it to green to fit better with the colors in the set. The Two Asian vases on the second level are a reference to the fight Jakob and Skylor have, the idea is that you can hide the Jade-blade in one of the vases and have one guessing which one it's in to play out the fight your self. From minifigure side, we planed quite early to have unique characters in the set with the opportunity to put in the remaining elemental masters. Because of production issues, we could not fit Camille in the set."
- Golden (2021) Lloyd, Gravis, Bolobo, and Jacob Pevsner are exclusive to this set.
- This set is a Legacy remake of the 2015 set, 70756 Dojo Showdown. Kai is the sole character who appears in both sets.
- However, similar to the original set, this version contains multiple exclusive Elemental Masters.
- This set features a golden Forbidden Spinjitzu spinner, although the technique wasn't introduced until Season 11.
- The tornado resembles the Creation Spinjitzu.
- The roller skates seen on Eyezor are a reference to the episode, "Ninja Roll."
- The vase with Jadeblade hidden inside also refers to "Ninja Roll," specifically to the scene when Jacob fought Skylor.
- The package of weapons from 2018 is used here in green to depict the Jadeblades.
- The Bolobo Minifigure in this set reuses a face print from Jack Davids of LEGO's Hidden Side theme.
- Eyezor wields a Silver Bone Axe.
- All minifigures except Jacob and Golden Lloyd are sleeveless.
- The sash on Legacy Jay in this set fixes the "MANTER" error from the January 2020 wave. It now reads "MASTER".
- Some parts of this set appear differently in this set than they do in the TV series.
- Jacob's sitar appears as a white guitar rather than a teal sitar.
- The same guitar piece was previously used in 21317 Steamboat Willie.
- The Jadeblade statue is represented as two separate displays which appear to hold nine Jadeblades in total as opposed to the single statue holding fifteen blades in total.
- Gravity has no form in the show and is invisible but in the set it appears as a purple force field around Gravis' hands.
- The Jadeblades are not transparent and have the shape of katanas, daggers and other weapons in the set.
- The Book of Spells is brown with a purple sticker, although it is only purple in the show.
- Jacob's sitar appears as a white guitar rather than a teal sitar.
- On top of the box, where minifigures charge at one another, Kai and Jay are on opposite sides, whereas usually it is the ninja (and allies) charging at the antagonists (and their allies). This was most likely done to reflect that in Season 4, the ninja were pitted against each other. However, it was Cole and Jay who fought, not Kai and Jay.
- The spinner in this set is translucent and golden color, as is Wu's spinner in 70663 Spinjitzu Nya & Wu, although Wu is not included in this set. The box shows Kai using it, although his Spinjitzu should be red.
- The tree in the set refers to the battle between Gravis and Griffin Turner, although it is green instead of pink to better fit the colors of the set.
- Although all the missing Elemental Masters were originally to be included in the set, due to production issues, Chamille did not fit into the final set.
- An error is included in the Character Encyclopedia New Edition book which on Golden Legacy Lloyd's page, the image of this set contains a faint confidential watermark on it
