- Melvin is exclusvive to this set, but he is commonly known as the "Imperium Guard." He was only identified to be the Imperium Guard in this set by the LEGO Ninjago Dragons Rising Character Guide.
- Despite the Imperium Guards being prevalent in the show, the Imperium Guard Commander appears in three sets yet never appears in the show. Given its sole appearance, the Imperium Guard is one of Ninjago's rarest foot soldier minifigures.
- Granted, the figure shares most of its parts with the Claw Hunters, making the pearl gold "pan head" the only exclusive part.
- This situation is similar to Crystalized's Vengestone Guards barely appearing in the sets, while the non-canon warriors and brutes appear much more frequently in the sets..
