Plot[]
Harumi tells Lloyd how she came back to life. She recaps her life up to the point where she died when the building she was on collapsed. After she died, Harumi met the Crystal King, who has taken the form of a ball of energy. The Crystal King offered to revive Harumi but only if she would become his servant after he revives her, if not, Harumi's only alternative is spending eternity in the Departed Realm.
After deep consideration, she accepts the offer. Harumi is revived and starts following orders from a crystal given to her by the Crystal King. Using the crystal, she frees herself from the building's debris and runs off.
She returns to the Oni Temple and, upon implanting the crystal into the pedestal where the Oni Mask of Hatred once was, the Oni Temple is transformed and the Crystal King reveals his real identity; the Overlord. At first, Harumi is horrified upon learning the identity of the being who revived her, having known what he has previously done to Ninjago. But after the Overlord tells Harumi that the only reason he does what he does is because he believes that destruction comes from the battles between good and evil, but could stop it once and for all by destroying the Balance, letting Ninjago be at peace in the dark as a result. Harumi agrees to serve him and help him build an army made out Vengestone, which would let them have the advantage.
Later on, Harumi began to gather Vengestone by buying it from Vangelis. One day, she went to the Kingdom of Shintaro and learned from Vangelis that the ninja are coming. Harumi believed that the ninja will ruin everything, but the King of Shintaro claims that there's nothing to worry about, and he can take care of things by himself if things go wrong. Moments later, Harumi witnesses the ninja's arrival and hid behind the throne to avoid being caught. After Vangelis was defeated, Harumi hired Miss Demeanor to smuggle the remaining Vengestone for her. One day, she planned on meeting up with her before the ninja arrived and battled Miss Demeanor. While in hiding, Harumi watched the battle and blamed the ninja for interfering.
Harumi reveals to Lloyd that her plan is to destroy the Monastery of Spinjitzu to steal the Golden Weapons. Lloyd reveals that he never stopped loving Harumi even if she did not reciprocate. This catches her off-guard and she angrily asks why he didn't come for her, Lloyd reveals he did.
A flashback reveals Lloyd returned to the building where Harumi perished and tried to find her after he defeated Garmadon in “Green Destiny.”
Lloyd told her that he searched through the rubble with his bare hands, but Harumi tells him that he didn't search long enough, Lloyd manages to steal the key and break free but is stopped by Mister F.
Harumi proceeded to tell Lloyd about the rise of the Crystal King and all of his darkness; after the speech the Overlord evilly laughs inside his crystal.

Trivia[]
- Narrator: Harumi
- During the opening sequence, parts of Spider's in the House is sung by Harumi.
- This is the second episode in the entire series to use a different music in its opening sequence than the one used in other episodes of the season. The first is "Dead Man's Squall."
- After Harumi's death, her hair is animated in a different way than usual, showing it blowing in every direction.
- The Overlord has a new voice which sounds similar to the voice he had in his dragon form.
Cultural references[]
- Harumi meeting with the Crystal King for the first time in death and accepting his offer is somewhat similar to 1986's The Transformers: The Movie when Unicron offers Megatron a new body only to be refused before the latter changes his mind.
- The way Mister F "reloads" his fists could be a reference to Henry Cavill's character in Mission: Impossible - Fallout.
Continuity[]
- Flashbacks are seen as Harumi explains how she resurfaced, such as "The Mask of Deception," "The Quiet One," "Game of Masks," "Dread on Arrival," "Big Trouble, Little Ninjago," "Saving Faith," "Into the Dark," and "A Big Splash."
- The flashbacks from episodes of Sons of Garmadon and Hunted make this the second time WILFilm ApS footage has been used in a WildBrain season. The first episode to do this was "The Call of Home," which featured flashbacks from episodes of Skybound.
- The episode confirms that Harumi was killed by the collapsing building in "Saving Faith," though she was resurrected by the Crystal King, and began serving him in return.
- How Harumi awakens back in the living world is similar to how Lloyd did after speaking with his grandfather during "Endings", as both were near death and met with an ancient powerful being.
- With the identity of the Crystal King being revealed to be the Overlord, this episode marks his first physical appearance in the main show since "The Titanium Ninja" and overall since "Greatest Battles," and the first time he appears in the WildBrain seasons.
- The Overlord mentions to Harumi the fact that he goes by many names. This references the Overlord's introduction to Garmadon in "The Stone Army," in which he mentions that he has several names to Garmadon.
- He also says that these names are the Dark Lord, the Golden Master, and most recently, the Crystal King.
- The Overlord mentions to Harumi the fact that he goes by many names. This references the Overlord's introduction to Garmadon in "The Stone Army," in which he mentions that he has several names to Garmadon.
- The Overlord's black, virus-like orb design is similar to his spirit pink orb design in Legacy of the Green Ninja. This also marks the first time he appeared as a spirit since "Return of the Overlord."
- This episode confirms the lair of the crystal army is the Oni Temple from Sons of Garmadon.
- This marks the first appearance of Hazza D'ur and Vangelis' appearance as the Skull Sorcerer since "The Son of Lilly," albeit in a flashback.
- This episode reveals that Harumi was the Vengestone buyer, and was purchasing Vengestone during the events of Master of the Mountain and Seabound.
- Harumi references her line said throughout Sons of Garmadon, "the greatest villain is the one who gets away".
- Harumi mentions to Lloyd that he and the other ninja have lost their elemental powers several times throughout the series, only to regain them back at a certain point. This callbacks to the many times throught the series where the ninja dealt with some situation being unable to use their powers, but regained them later on:
- After the events of "Day of the Great Devourer," the four original ninja lost their Golden Weapons and were rendered powerless until they were powered-up at the Temple of Light in "Island of Darkness."
- After The Final Battle, the four original were rendered powerless again until "Codename: Arcturus."
- Chen steadily stole each of the ninja's powers throughout Tournament of Elements, but gained them back upon the Staff's destruction in "The Forgotten Element."
- The ninja lost their powers again throughout Possession when Morro possessed Lloyd until "Grave Danger."
- Lloyd was rendered powerless in "True Potential" up until the end of his fight with Garmadon in "Green Destiny."
- Kai lost his elemental Fire to Aspheera in "Boobytraps and How to Survive Them" but regained them fully during "Awakenings."
- This episode marks the second and final time that a ninja's suit which appeared in the WILFilm seasons, in this case, Lloyd's Hunted suit, to be animated by WildBrain.
- Previously, Jay's Training, Tournament, and Resistance suits used by the League of Jay throughout Prime Empire.
