Alfonzo Elias Frohicky is an anthropomorphic frog from the Wyldness that used to live in the Crossroads and organized many events, including races, festivals and competitions. His friends from the Crossroads, Arin and Sora offered him to stay at the Monastery of Spinjitzu to help Lloyd maintain it as an Assistant Monastery Keeper. Despite having troubles with this job at first, he became fond of it and decided to stay and help the ninja in this way.

History

Background

Long ago, during Alfonzo's tadpole days, he learned of numerous tales about the Forbidden Five from his home realm and the ninja from Ninjago. At some point in his life, Alfonzo learned family recipes from his mother, grandmother and aunt. Following the unification of all realms by the Merge, Mr. Frohicky found himself residing in the Crossroads, whether due to the loss of his original home or a deliberate decision. Within the Crossroads, Mr. Frohicky was an organizer of many events like races, contests or festivals and formed a close bond with Arin and Sora, becoming steadfast friends.

The Way In

Mr. Frohicky worked at the entry booth for the Mech Master 5000, serving as the event's manager. When Arin and Sora registered to enter, Arin offered him an appleberry pie in lieu of money for their entry fee. Although Mr. Frohicky declined at first, a quick whiff of the pie was more than enough to change his mind.

The Merge: Part 1

Mr. Frohicky enthusiastically announced the last opportunity to register for the Mech Master 5000. Sora, accompanied by Arin, interjects with excitement. Mr. Frohicky warmly greets the two friends, but he soon playfully commented on the SA Mark 01, implying that it may not be as impressive as some of Sora's previous creations. However, Sora confidently defends her mech, highlighting its potential. Mr. Frohicky mentions the top mechs from different realms and Ninjago that are present. Arin offered Mr. Frohicky a Snowberry Pie as a form of payment for their registration fees, which he initially refused but eventually accepted. With the registration settled, Mr. Frohicky instructed the two to line up for the race as he ate the pie then belched out the tray.

Crossroads Carnival

Mr. Frohicky was a judge in the pie contest when Arin registered his Snowberry Pie. Unfortunately, Arin loses to his rival, Grab-Barg. Mr. Frohicky personally hands Arin the second place medal, admitting his pie was still good.

Because of his incapabilities to handle several responsibilities, Arin and Sora bring in Mr. Frohicky to assist in maintaining the Monastery of Spinjitzu for Lloyd, who was stressed out. Lloyd initially hesitated but ultimately agreed to accept Mr. Frohicky's help, appointing him as the Assistant Keeper. Mr. Frohicky expressed his gratitude and eagerness to serve, which prompted Lloyd to inquire about his availability to start immediately.

Mr. Frohicky cleans the hangar bay while the Ninja discuss their plan to search for the Dragon Cores. He later gives Zane a little cleaning.

Wyldly Inappropriate

Mr. Frohicky approaches Zane with a cup of tea coated with flies, but the latter declines it, so he has it instead, even eating the cup. Seeing he was in need of a wyconium coil to get a scanner working, Mr. Frohicky and Zane, who disguises himself head over to the junkyard, now owned by Kreel, to get the part, only to be thrown out when they didn't have money for the part. Discovering the Crossroads is having a Zane Day, Zane participates in the lookalike contest in order to win money for the part, only to come dead last. However, the consultation prize was a gift card for the junkyard.

While Zane was studying a portal gate and talking to a picture of P.I.X.A.L., Mr. Frohicky appeared, with a bucket holding an ice cube, and accidentally bumped into him. Zane grabbed onto his arm to stop him from falling down the stairs, as Mr. Frohicky told him he was being super quiet, before dropping the ice cube down the stairs, telling Zane he did not want to disturb whoever it was he was talking to. As Zane tells him he was speaking to a picture of P.I.X.A.L., Mr. Frohicky stuck his tongue onto the ice cube, pleading that her picture did not talk back, to which Zane replied saying it did not. As Zane explains how talking to her picture helps him solve problems, Mr. Frohicky tells him how long he has been studying the portal gate, so he fetched some ice cubes in order to help him keep his Ice powers in check. However, Zane reminded him that he can produce Ice at his own will whenever needed and demonstrates by conjuring another ice cube on top. Mr. Frohicky, embarrassed by this realization, requested for this to never be brought up again, before leaving.

Back at the Monastery of Spinjitzu, Mr. Frohicky is scrubbing the hallways with a small toothbrush, believing that he'll be fired by the ninja if he does not get on top of his work. When Zane arrives and asked why he was doing this, Mr. Frohicky replied that the Monastery needs to be spotless when the others returned with the three Dragon Cores. However, Zane states it will take him 61,696 hours approximately to clean the Monastery due to how miniature the toothbrush is. So, he decided to get an automated mop machine from Kreel, however, he loses control of it and makes a mess of the relaxation/Arin and Sora's room, before having to have the machine frozen by Zane. After he thanks him, Mr. Frohicky rushes out to throw up, inadvertently doing it in the hallway.

Mr. Frohicky then later decided to organize the library's scrolls alphabetically by author. However, Zane told him that the scrolls were meant to be ordered in chronological order, leaving him disappointed in himself once again.

Mr. Frohicky decided to pack his belongings and leave the Monastery, believing himself to be unworthy of his assistance to the ninja. Zane uses a technical example as an "adjustment period," which Mr. Frohicky did not understand, so Zane explained to him that he needs to allow himself to "de-pressurize" and adjust to the Monastery. Realizing the definition, he asks if he won't be considered to be the worst Assistant Keeper, to which Zane commented that since they never had an Assistant Keeper, he was already the worst, and the best at it, and that he is already welcomed onto the team.

After Zane telling the third core was on its way, Mr. Frohicky drove the Spinjitzu Race Car, saying he wasn't prepared to drive in these conditions telling the citizens of the Crossroads to watch out and get out his way. Zane managed to save him by freezing the car wheels preventing the car from moving. Asking Lloyd if he brought the core to the place, Lloyd assured that he did and told him he was still the best assistant keeper of the monastery much to his relief. He then fainted when one of the citizens caught in the storm that returned landed on the car's hood.

The Blood Moon

Mr. Frohicky was cleaning the Monastery when Arin and Sora rode on a grownup Riyu. He told them several time that due to Riye being bigger now he can't run in the halls without making a mess. But the duo promise to clean up the mess when they get back. He gave them a note from Kreel who needed their help since a mysterious thief has been breaking into places, including her junkyard, without setting off alarms.

Later after Lloyd wakes up from having another vision, he notices Mr. Frohicky cleaning up late, which he tells Lloyd that Arin and Sora promise to clean up their mess but had to go on a stakeout so they promise to do it tomorrow.

Shattered Dreams

Mr. Frohicky meet with the other Ninja in the courtyard where he gave Lloyd his mother's fetid swamp tea to help Lloyd's nerves over his visions. When Sora questioned him over the flies, Frohicky said you know if it is working, which Lloyd drank and calmed his nerves.

When the ninja heard knocking on the Monastery door, Mr. Frohicky answered it and saw it was Percival who walks in with an injured Euphrasia.

Beyond the Phantasm Cave

Kai asked Mr. Frohicky to watch over Wyldfyre after she got her leg injured from Cinder. Although unknown to Frohicky, Wyldfyre manage to sneak onto the ship and trick him by stacking a bunch of rocks under a blanket to make it look like she was sleeping.

Frohicky was in the dragon stables decorating the portal gate, when Zane confronted him over the Frog man doll. Mr. Frohicky said the doll is for Zane to work out conflict and to talk to the doll like it's the real him. Zane was confused but Frohicky said it is due to Zane's heightened emotions can prevent a productive conversation. Zane asked about the decorations which Frohicky wanted to put on incase the portal gate activate again and had visitors. Zane urged Alfonzo not to block the gate, but Alfonzo initially refused, citing Zane's argument that the gate was not functioning properly due to its connection to Imperium. But Zane persisted and informed Alfonzo that the portal gate had mysteriously materialized as a result of the Merge's mystical energies, and could activate at any moment. Alfonzo eventually accepted Zane's words and ceased blocking the gate.

However, just as Alfonzo was descending the ladder, the portal gate suddenly activated, revealing Cole and the Finders, who landed on top of him. Cole reveals they were being chased wolf warriors. After Cole and Zane fought the warriors and a mysterious orb turned off the gate, Frohicky served the Finders tea in the relaxation room.

Chaos Unchained

Frohicky meticulously polished the floors of the hangar bay, taking great pride in his work. Just as he completed the task, he looked forward to treating himself to some Zip Flies. However, his plans were abruptly interrupted when the ninja and Arin arrived in their vehicles, creating chaos in the freshly cleaned space, much to Frohicky's dismay. The ninja, unaware of the slick surface, lost their footing and slipped on the newly waxed floor. Seizing the moment, Frohicky attempted to lighten the mood with a joke related to cleanliness. After the ninja left to prepare for their journey to the First Land, a frustrated Frohicky muttered that he had never been particularly interested in personal accolades. Resigned to his duties, he returned to cleaning, only to slip and fell.

The Shatter Dragon

Frohicky was cleaning in the courtyard where he noticed a chaotic storm. He pleaded that the Ninja were safe.

After the Ninja stopped Thunderfang, Frohicky went up to the ninja where he congruated them on saving the world. Despite Lloyd's doubts, Frohicky revealed he threw a party for them.

The Hollow Ones

Frohicky was serving Jay in the relaxation room. Although Jay didn't like his tea, again, and went to make another recipe. When Nya and Lloyd came in Frohicky told them that Jay might be faking his leg injure now and left the room again when Jay called his tea terrible.

For Whom the Bell Tolls

Frohicky remained with Geo as they an eye on the Finders while Sora and Wyldfyre headed back to the dragon stables. Upon seeing the Finders hollow, Wyldfyre suspected an attack by the Spectral Dragonians on the Monastery of Spinjitzu, but Frohicky quickly corrected her. Sora elaborated on the spectral invasions, explaining that the Forbidden Five and the Spectral Dragonians were capturing souls with the intent of allowing Thunderfang to evolve into a Source Dragon. To stop him, Sora, Wyldfyre, Frak, Riyu, and Zanth set off for Djinjago to awaken one half of the Arc Dragon of Focus, while Frohicky and Geo stayed behind to protect Cole and the Finders.

In an effort to help the hollowed Finders, Frohicky decided to offer them his aunt's broth, believing it might restore their vitality. However, Geo was concered about the broth's safety, remarking on its particularly foul odor. Frohicky reassured him that as long as the broth could be kept down, it would be effective. He then attempted to give the broth to Bonzle, only to discover that, as a skeleton, it simply passed through her. When Frohicky asked about Bonzle's eating habits, Geo grew frustrated, insisting that the specifics were irrelevant. Just then, they noticed the portal gate activating, and Ras emerged, filling Frohicky with dread as he questioned Ras' presence in the monastery. Ras commanded Frohicky and Geo to submit or face perish. Geo stood his ground, declaring that ninja never quit, to which Ras retorted that neither of them were ninja. Frohicky interjected, claiming that he and Geo were "ninja adjacents," and that they too would not give up. Ras prepared to attack, but Frohicky quickly threw the broth at Ras' face in a desperate attempt to halt the tiger. Enraged, Ras chased after them as they hurried to gather the Finders and Cole, making their way to the elevator.

When Doves Cry

Frohicky and Geo worked together to defend the Monastery during the invasion of Ras. During the fight, Frohicky uses his knowledge of the Monastery to buy Geo time to disarm Ras while encouraging Barry and Jenny to hide. When Geo was defeated, Frohicky is relieved when Rontu appeared to fight, only to become horrified when the dragon was easily defeated due to the Source Dragon Icons that Ras possessed. Following Rontu's defeat, Frohicky was forced into revealing Master Wu's study.

Before Curious!

Frohicky would write an autobiography titled From Tadpole to Assistant Keeper of the Monastery: A Fateful Journey, which entailed his life story, as well as some cooking recipes.

During her speech, Beatrix showcased a video compilation of the Crossroads to the Imperians, which included footage of Mr. Frohicky burping flies in front of another citizen.

Curious!

Lobbo advertised that Mr. Frohicky would be hosting a reading of his autobiography at the public library in the Crossroads on the weekend.

Personality

Alfonzo Frohicky is a very energetic and hardworking frog man from the Wyldness. He has a great weakness for various foods, and is even willing to bend the rules for those who offer him food. At the request of Arin and Sora, he was willing to come to work at the Monastery of Spinjitzu as an Assistant Keeper without objection. However, since he felt that he was not good enough for the job, he wanted to leave, but was convinced by Zane. He built a very good relationship with this ninja and decided to help him in various ways, including offering him food, plush toys, but also ice, since he thought Zane needed it. He is very kind, helpful, and responsible at his task at the Monastery. He is always very helpful to guests of the monastery, often preparing food or drink for them.

Although of a peaceful nature and rather coward, he showed great bravery when Ras attacked the monastery in the ninja's absence, standing up to him while he is a very a dangerous opponent. Wishing to be as brave as the ninja, he first threw a bowl of soup at the Tiger's face and later tried to attack him with his extendable tongue.

Appearance

Mr. Frohicky is a green anthropomorphic frog from the Wyldness with large orange eyes and a long pink tongue. His clothing consists of brown and black cloth sewn together in various ways, and he is girded with a dark belt, on which are attached various flasks of colored liquids. He always wears a large brown scarf around his neck.

Abilities

• Frog physiology - As an anthropomorphic frog, Alfonzo possesses the characteristics and capabilities typical of an ordinary frog.
  • Expandable tongue - Alfonzo has an expandable and sticky tongue that allows him to catch from a distance objects, food or insects in mid-flight.
  • Long jumps - Alfonzo is able to perform frog-like jumps by propelling himself with his hind legs.
• Cooking - Mr. Frohicky is good at cooking, even if the ninja think many of his recipes are not good and disgusting due to being frog family recipes often made with flies, he also knows how to cook edible dishes for other species. He also doesn't hesitate to cook for the guests of the monastery.

• His Swedish voice actor, Christian Hedlund, voiced Cole in the The LEGO Ninjago Movie.
• It is suggested "The Temple of the Dragon Cores", when Mr. Frohicky says he knew about the ninja since he was a tadpole, that he is much younger than his design and voice imply and that his species simply ages faster than humans, or that time moved faster in the Wyldness compared to Ninjago.
• He's the only anthropomorphic animal in the Wyldness to have a middle name and a surname.
