The Winged[2] Army of Shintaro (also known as the Winged Guards of Shintaro[3]) are the guardians of the Kingdom of Shintaro.
History[]
Shintaro[]
Just before Destiny's Bounty is about to fall over, the Army of Shintaro are able to lift the Bounty and save it from crashing.
Into the Dark[]
The Army continue to carry the Bounty into the Kingdom of Shintaro. When the ninja enter the throne room, there are guards surrounding the room.
When Cole freaks out after seeing a purple monster, two of the army members come in to see if Cole is okay.
The Worst Rescue Ever[]
The Army of Shintaro can be seen guarding the Kingdom of Shintaro.
The Two Blades[]
A member of the army passes by Vania's bedroom and check to see if the ninja are okay, unaware that they are underground trying to save Cole.
The Skull Sorcerer[]
The Army of Shintaro are discussing something with Vangelis before Vania, Cole, and Wu storm in. They then leave after Vania said it was urgent.
The Real Fall[]
Vangelis orders Hailmar and the army to imprison Chompy, claiming that Chompy pushed Vania into the pit. The army are confused, but eventually comply.
The Ascent[]
Hailmar and the Army of Shintaro storm the throne room and order an arrest on Cole per Vangelis' orders. Vania tries to reason with him, but he doesn't budge, so they end up fighting. While they are fighting, Chompy turns into a gigantic dragon and swipes the guards. Cole and the Upply end up escaping and Vania tries to reason with Hailmar again, but he charges at Vania.
The Son of Lilly[]
The Army of Shintaro aid the Geckles, Munce, ninja, and Upply in defeating the Re-Awakened. When the Skull of Hazza D'ur is destroyed by Cole, Vania orders the guards to take Vangelis away.
The guards are at the ceremony where Vania is presented as queen of Shintaro.
Magma Mayhem[]
The guards helped the ninja to stop the attack of the Lava Monsters on Shintaro. After the battle, Cole gave them his magic hammer, so they can use it if the monsters will attack again.
Master of the Sea[]
A few of the Army can be seen in Shintaro.
The Turn of the Tide[]
Multiple members of the Army are seen at Nya's memorial alongside their queen.
Ninjago City vs. Ninja[]
Some of the guards are seen flying around Shintaro.

Trivia[]
- They use a less prominent version of the helmet first used on Garmadon in The LEGO Ninjago Movie, though Hailmar uses the original shape.
- They are very similar to the Maaray Guards as both groups guard their respective kingdoms, take orders from the royal families of their kingdoms, and in both groups all members use the same weapon.
- Both the Maaray Guards and the Army of Shintaro were also deceived by corrupt rulers into believing the ninja were the enemy in the show.
- In "The Real Fall," several skeletons and pieces of armor belonging to the guards are seen.
