Aru is a young boy and a fan of the ninja. He is the son of Koji and Ume.
History[]
One evening following the Tournament of the Sources, Aru played with a Lloyd doll outside of his home with his dog. As they played together, Aru accidentally hurled his doll into the nearby brush, though he did not seem to notice. Aru's laughter however would vanish as his dog suddenly became alert and began growling at the brush as a dark figure stepped out from the shadows. Although initially frightened by the stranger, Aru's fear would dissipate completely once the figure removed his dark hood, revealing a smiling face underneath, and returned the lost doll to him. The teenager would then introduce himself as Arin and would be invited to have dinner alongside Aru and his family.
As the family gathered to send off their guest, Aru insisted for Arin to take his doll, declaring that the teenager needed someone to protect him on his journeys. Although initially reluctant, Arin accepted Aru's gift as he departed.

- Similar to other members of his family, his design was used from an earlier Ninjago character.
- Aru and his family presumably originate from Ninjago, as his Green Ninja doll uses the ZX gi, and he knows the significance of the ninja, as he sees it as protector.
