Barry Nived[1] is the father of Arin and the husband of Jenny. Along with his wife, he disappeared during the Merge and got reassigned by the Administration to the Land of Lee.
History[]
Background[]
Some years before the Merge, he got married to Jenny and they had Arin, and lived in a small neighborhood with them. Arin was a fan of the ninja and dreamed of becoming one, which both he and Jenny seemingly supported. They would also get together and play detective games.
Clues and Suspects (flashback)[]
During a detective game with his wife and son, Barry, embodying the character of an experienced detective, shares some serious advice with Arin. He emphasizes the importance of being careful and wary of everyone when truing to solve a mystery. To add a lighthearted touch, he jokingly suggests that even Jenny could be a suspect. Jenny, surprised by Barry's playful remark, and playfully tosses her cards aside as the three laugh.
The Merge: Part 1 (flashback)[]
Jenny and Barry watch their son practice his skills on the gate before the Merge began to occur. As they head inside, Arin's mother tells him to get inside as well, but it was too late. When the Merge concluded, Arin's neighborhood had seemingly vanished, along with his parents.
The Power Within[]
While rescuing citizens of the Crossroads, Arin sees his parents through a rift. They see him as the rift closes, but for a moment, they saw their son as a ninja, becoming aware of his dream becoming a reality.
Prior to The Shape of Motion[]
By the orders of Jay, the Department of Reassignment reassigned Barry and his wife to the Land of Lee.
Casket of Bones[]
Barry watched as Jay and Nya fought variants of Lee in the Community of Lee. He also smiled as Jenny exclaimed to Jay and Nya about Arin being a big fan of the ninja.
