Beatrix's coup was an event years before the Merge when Princess Beatrix overthrew her father, Emperor Levo, and her sister, Princess Zeatrix, to gain power over the Kingdom of Imperium. With the help of a mysterious outsider, Ras, she killed her father and imprisoned her sister. After that, they formed the Claws of Imperium to capture dragons and drain their power for Imperium.

History

Ras' arrival

At the behest of his master, Ras came to Imperium to offer his help to the Emperor so they could hunt down a Source Dragon together. However, Emperor Levo refused his offer, as the dragons shared their power with Imperium willingly. Ras then looked out for Princess Beatrix, to whom he presented his plans, and she agreed, since in return he promised her the throne, which would otherwise have been inherited by her older sister after the death of their father.

Assassination of the emperor

Together, Ras and Beatrix planned to assassinate Emperor Levo, and when he went on a hover chariot flight, they planted a bomb inside it. After taking off, his chariot exploded and crashed to the ground, resulting in his death, but it appeared to be an accident.

Taking power

After the Emperor's death, Princess Zeatrix was wrongfully charged with treason against the Imperium. This accusation led to her arrest by Ras, resulting in her subsequent banishment from the kingdom. Beatrix then took power and had herself crowned empress, establishing a strict dictatorship. She took down her father's statue from the square and replaced it with her own, while also introducing stricter dress codes for citizens.

Beatrix then founded the Claws of Imperium, a military organization dedicated to hunting dragons. With their help, Ras was able to contain the Source Dragon of Energy by summoning by with a Dragon Icon. Beatrix also supported the development of science and technology in the Advanced Systems Lab, where Dr. LaRow created many weapons and gadgets for the Imperium.
