Trivia[]
Continuity[]
- This episode marks Kruncha's and Nuckal's first physical appearance since "The Greatest Fear of All." This is also their first appearance in the WildBrain animation.
- Kruncha and Nuckal are now the eleventh and twelfth named characters from the original series to appear in Ninjago: Dragons Rising. The other characters are:
- Gulch from Master of the Mountain who appeared in "Wyldly Inappropriate."
- The Mechanic from Skybound who appeared in "The Mech Master."
- Fugi-Dove from Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu who appeared in "The Blood Moon."
- Tox and Mr. Pale from Tournament of Elements who appeared in "Enter the City of Temples."
- Neuro and Chamille from Tournament of Elements who appeared in "The Sword Shatters."
- Morro from Tournament of Elements and mainly Possession who appeared in "The Spectral Lands."
- P.I.X.A.L. from Rebooted who appeared in "The Great Zane Robbery."
- Dareth from Legacy of the Green Ninja who appeared in "Fallen Wishes."
- Kruncha and Nuckal first debuted in the pilot episodes.
- The two Skulkins' collective appearances marks the third instance villains from the original series returned for Dragons Rising, with the first and second instances being the Mechanic and Morro, respectively.
- While The New Ninja and Special Delivery From Stiix! suggested that Kruncha and Nuckal were freed from Kryptarium Prison, this was finally confirmed in this episode 9 years later.
- This episode marks the first time the Underworld has appeared in Dragons Rising, as well as the first time it appears in its WildBrain animation; it was last seen in general in "The Kaiju Protocol," but this episode is the first time the Underworld has had new animation for it since "Curseworld, Part II."
- This episode marks the third time Garmadon has been mentioned in Ninjago: Dragons Rising, he was first mentioned in "The Temple of the Dragon Cores" and then again in "The Spell at the Waterfall."
- Arin placing Nuckal's head on Kruncha's body before the two swap heads could be seen as a subtle callback to the animation mishap in "The Invitation" where for whatever reason Kruncha's voice came out of Nuckal's body and vice versa.
- The way Ras grabs Arin's leg is similar in their fight near the end of "The Forest of Spirits", Although this time Arin uses Spinjitzu and blows both of them back.
Errors[]
- When Fritz and Spitz showed the Prismatic Blades to Kai, Fritz was holding the Returning Blade. However, at that moment, the Returning Blade was actually with Arin.
- When Kruncha pushes Nuckal after Nuckal says that he responds to strong leadership, Arin can be briefly seen with bright yellow eyes.
- Although the Source Dragon of Flow is credited, she does not speak in this episode.
