Chope was one of Master Chen's Anacondrai Cultists. Unlike most members of Chen's army, Chope and his best friend Kapau tended to get in a little mayhem with their tasks, though they dreamt of rising up the ranks of Chen's cult. In the midst of the Tournament of Elements, their loyalty to Chen grew, as they eventually captured Kai and Skylor and allowed for the transformation spell to be completed.
With Chen's army transformed in Anacondrai, Kapau and Chope set off to Kryptarium Prison to capture Pythor, the last of the Anacondrai, whose sweat could be used to make the transformation permanent. Kapau and Chope fought the ninja at the prison, eventually being aided by their fellow cultists, who captured Pythor. Chope joined the cultists as they set off to the Corridor of Elders to battle the Elemental Masters, as he helped carry the Roto Jet with Chen inside. Chope fought against the Elemental Masters and their allies, with Chen's army slowly overwhelming them. Garmadon made the fateful decision to be banished to the Cursed Realm, which in turn released the spirits of the Anacondrai generals. The generals cursed Chen's army, including Chope, and sent them to the Cursed Realm.
Some time later, Nya unlocked her True Potential to destroy The Preeminent, the physical manifestation of the Cursed Realm. Consequently, the Cursed Realm was destroyed along with all its inhabitants, including Chope.
History[]
The Invitation[]
On the day before the Tournament of Elements began, Chope was in New Ninjago City and observed Kai defeating Kruncha at Yang Tavern. Chope later entered Chen's Noodle House with Eyezor and Krait to rob the register. After being defeated by the ninja, the three thugs left out the back. They would later be seen aboard the ferry to Chen's Island, patrolling alongside Clouse throughout the voyage.
Only One Can Remain[]
On the first night of the Tournament of Elements, Chope, Kapau, and several other Anacondrai Cultists made their way to the Anacondrai Temple to partake in a secret ceremony, but were captured by the ninja who went in their place.
Versus[]
Chope was one of the Anacondrai cultists to watch the matches.
Ninja Roll[]
Chope would inspect the noodle trucks driven by Eyezor and a group of cultists wearing their casual clothes that arrived in Ninjago City via the ferry for goods transportation to and from the noodle house as they were boarding. The inspection went well, and with all trucks aboard, the ferry would sail back to Chen's island, though they were unaware of two stowaways having snuck aboard during the inspection using an additional truck.
Spy for a Spy[]
On the day of a feast in honor of the final eight competitors, Chope and Kapau stood guard at the Kabuki's entrance to the palace.
Later, while guarding the bridge to the waterfall, Chope and Kapau heard a guitar solo emanating from the waterfall and began dancing to it until they were ordered to investigate by Eyezor. They found the D.B. Express hidden inside with Dareth jamming out. When Dareth attempted to escape in the DB X, Chope and the other guards pursued him, and managed to capture the Brown Ninja.
The Forgotten Element[]
While on duty, he and Kapau expressed their jealousy of Eyezor's position as general, and discussed what their names should be, only to be yelled at by Eyezor to be silent. Later, they brought Lloyd in to the ceremony, and joined their fellow cultists in chanting on Eyezor's orders. When the Elemental Masters escaped and Kai destroyed the Staff of Elements, the pair escaped alongside Chen, Clouse, Zugu and Eyezor, with a captured Skylor being brought with them following her being taken prisoner by them off-screen in the midst of the chaos.
The Day of the Dragon[]
While hiding behind the waterfall, Chope and Kapau were ecstatic at being in Chen's inner circle and guarding Skylor, though she messed with them to get Eyezor to yell at them. They released her under Chen's orders, and were later sent to recapture her after she escaped, which they successfully did, catching her and Kai in a vengestone net.
The two then performed the spell in Clouse's place due to him being sent to the Cursed Realm where he took over reciting the spell because of Kapau fainting. They both were amazed at their new forms and left the island with Chen and the other Cultists.
The Greatest Fear of All[]
Kapau and Chope tell Chen the spell continues onto the next page and that the essence of a true Anacondrai is needed to make it permanent.
Later, Chope helped infiltrate Kryptarium Prison by sneaking in through a laundry van[1] and knocking the watchtower guard out. He fought off the ninja and they eventually went back to their hideout with Pythor.
Chope would later participate in Chen's attack on Jamanakai Village.
The Corridor of Elders[]
Chope helped carry Chen in the Roto Jet alongside Kapau, Eyezor, and Zugu through the Corridor of Elders and joined the rest of the army as they fought the ninja, the Elemental Masters, and citizens of Ninjago. They were nearly successful until Garmadon sacrificed himself and was banished to the Cursed Realm, which freed the spirits of the Anacondrai generals. Chope and Kapau, along with their master and the rest of his army, were cursed and banished, ending the war.
Curseworld, Part II[]
Sometime after his imprisonment in the Cursed Realm, Chope eventually transformed from his Anacondrai form back to his normal self, due to the fact that the spell to turn the Cultists into Anacondrai was never permanent.
After the Ghost Warriors released the Preeminent, they launched an assault on Stiix and its residents. However, the Preeminent was later swept away by a tidal wave conjured by Nya, resulting in its demise. Because the Preeminent was the living incarnation of the Cursed Realm, the entire realm was obliterated, leading to the demise of all its inhabitants, including Chope. Consequently, Chope was sent to the Departed Realm.
In LEGO Dimensions[]
Chope appears in the Ninjago level of LEGO Dimensions as one of Chen's guards.
In Shadow of Ronin (non-canon)[]
Chope is a playable character in LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin, though he is labeled as "Mojo." He can be purchased for 20,000 studs after obtaining "True Ninja" in Level 1: Chen's Island. He is armed with an Anacondrai Blade and possesses no special abilities. Chope also serves as a enemy goon in Level 1: Chen's Island and Level 2: Chen's Dungeon.
Appearance[]
Chope wore a large Anacondrai Serpentine skull on his head. His face had red markings on his eyes and thick black eyebrows, along with purple Anacondrai markings all over his head. His body had a large print of a purple snake on his left chest, with a dark red rope-like strap on his body. The strap connected to a belt containing studs and Anacondrai skull-prints. His legs had golden chains; the top half of them was dark red, while the bottom half was purple, including the feet. His knees had silver chains, and his feet had prints of silver boots with spikes on the toes. Like most of his companions and best friend Kapau, Chope appeared to be very muscular and fairly strong, as he was able to carry his friend away from Chen when he was getting more angry due to his stalling.
Personality[]
Chope and his close friend Kapau may only be lowly foot soldiers in Master Chen's secret army, but they yearned for power and prestige. With the flashy new nicknames they gave themselves, they're sure they'll soon climb through the ranks until they're two of the most famous and celebrated warriors in all of Ninjago.

With the flashy new nicknames they've given themselves, they're sure they'll soon climb through the ranks until they're two of the most famous and celebrated warriors in all of Ninjago![2]
Kapau and Chope don't have a lot of skill or talent, but they have plenty of ambition despite their comical shortcomings. As the battle proceeds, they may find themselves gaining the higher rank they have always wanted ...but they may also find themselves in way over their heads![3]
Tournament of Elements (Chop'rai)[]
Chop'rai is an Anacondrai warrior loyal to Master Chen. Swift and powerful, he is at the forefront of every attack and brings a savagery that scares opponents away. The only problem with Chop'rai is when he gets caught up in battle, he sometimes forgets whose side he's on and starts walloping everybody.[4]
