- The Claw Staffs heavily resemble man catchers, pole weapons used by 18th-Century European law enforcement to non-lethally capture and contain a suspect with relative ease, usually from off of horses.
- In the show, the Claw Staffs have a similar aesthetic as the Icon of the Source Dragon of Strength, with similar colors and the exact same handle stick design.
- A possible explanation for this resemblance is that they are both weapons that were designed for the Imperium villain faction.
