The Crystal Warriors were the foot soldiers of the crystal army. They were created from the Vengestone collected by Harumi.
History[]
Background[]
The Overlord ordered Harumi to gather Vengestone to build an army that won't be effected by Elemental Powers. Although she had difficulty on finding Vengestone at first, Harumi learned about the Vengestone mines, and became a customer for King Vangelis, being able to obtain the Vengestone for the Overlord. However, after Vangelis was defeated during the Battle for Shintaro Mountain, the Vengestone mines were shut down. This forced Harumi to obtain the rest of the Vengestone for the Overlord by hiring Miss Demeanor to smuggle it for her.
Crystalized[]
Once the Vengestone was collected, it was forged into statues for the Overlord, who used his powers to bring the statues to life by replacing parts of them with the infectious crystals. With the Crystal Warriors alive, the Overlord unleashed them to attack Ninjago until they reached the city. Because they were made of Vengestone and crystals, the Crystal Warriors overpowered the ninja, and turn the people of Ninjago into crystal zombies.
Not long after the Overlord conquered Ninjago City, the Crystal Warriors continued to crystallize the citizens that weren't infected while assisting the Crystal Council in their search for the ninja, but failed. When the Overlord discovered that there was a resistance taking shelter at the newspaper warehouse, the Crystal Warriors joined the rest of the crystal army to attack them. As the battle commenced, the crystal army was close to winning until the ninja's allies arrive to fight the Crystal Warriors. This allowed the ninja to unlock Dragon Form and take back the Golden Weapons. This weakened the Crystal Warriors, and because of it, they were all destroyed by the Resistance.

Trivia[]
- The Vengestone Guards are the only Crystal Warriors to appear in the show.
- In "Christofern," Wu referred to the Crystal Warriors as Vengestone Warriors, showing that the name is used as an alternative name for all three types of Crystal Warriors, regardless of their ranks. This is similar to how the name "Stone Warriors" was used for all three types of Stone Army members, another army served by the Overlord, by the characters in the show.
