Curses are a form of magic used in the Merged Realms to invoke misfortune and pain to specific beings or objects.
Type of curses[]
Djinn curses[]
The Howlers
Long ago, the djinns placed a curse on whoever would mishandle their artifact, such as misusing the Seeker Stones. Individuals who get cursed have a emblem on their hands, and become targets of the Howlers, ghost-like creatures that chase the victims until their life energy is drained. Howlers also attack anyone who comes into contact with the victims, including djinns, they can only be stopped with the use of djinn magic.
Cursed Realm curses[]

Some ghosts from the Cursed Realm, with specific circumstances, have the ability to curse individuals and directly send them to the Cursed Realm. During the end of the Second Serpentine War, Garmadon sacrificed his life by banishing himself to the Cursed Realm to take the place of the Anacondrai generals he exiled there many decades ago. When the generals were freed, they had the ability to curse Master Chen and his army of fake Anacondrai, sending of all of the warriors directly to the Cursed Realm, imprisoning them until the Preeminent's destruction during the ghost invasion.
Temple of Airjitzu[]

During the Edo period, Master Yang attempted to use the Yin Blade to become immortal, but when that plan backfired, turning him and his students into ghost that were trapped in the temple until the Yin-Yang Eclipse. Even after the temple was repristinated, Yang was still trapped in the at his home, as the curse of the temple requires that at least one ghost remained behind as Master of the House.
Scroll-Worms' curse[]
At some point in time, Lord Ras cursed the Scroll-Worms in the Cloud Kingdom archives, the curse is activated when the worms are being asked forbidden information, causing them to turn red and to become hostile, shooting silk from their mouths and imprisoning people in cocoons. The cursed Scroll-Worms follow Ras' commands.
Infinity door curse[]
The infinity door curse is a curse that is cast on doors, causing there to be an identical door behind it. Gandalaria suspected that one of the doors in her storehouse was cursed.
Blood Moon curse[]
At some point in time, the two Dragon Masters Egalt and Rontu were introduced to a curse that petrifies them every time the Blood Moon rarely occurs.
Gong of Shattering[]
When the Gong of Shattering is struck with the Mallet of Shattering by someone attempting to perform Shatterspin, despite not being an Elemental Master, the gong bestows a curse upon the individual, transforming them into a lycanthrope.
