Dale[1] is a farmer and mechanic from an unknown ocean village.

Background[]
Dale worked as a farmer on an unknown village in the middle of the ocean harvesting algae. One day, a pirate gang consisting of Merlopians attacked the village with a giant crab monster, which forced them all onto a section of the village, which the monster breaks apart and sends it drifting away from the village.
Dragons Rising, Season 1[]
Gangs of the Sea[]
Dale and the exiled villagers were later visited by Lloyd and Arin, who were in need of repairs to their ship after the latter accidentally damaged the engines, and the Merlopian pirates damaged it further. Dale explains how he and his villagers were exiled from the village before Arin tells him and the villagers that they have to fight back. Over the next few hours, Dale practices swordplay with Lloyd, and later shows him and Arin a map of their village before a boy jumped on it during his excitement of being on the ship.
Later that night, Lloyd and Arin lead Dale and the villagers against the pirates, until the leader's crown was knocked off, and all the pirates stood down, having been controlled by the crab, who had a large tooth in the center before Lloyd breaks it off, shrinking the crab who immediately fled. With the village back in their hands and living in peace with the pirates, Dale fixes the ship and offers Lloyd and Arin a place in their village, but they decline as they have a mission.
