“My kind are extremely shy. But because of our appearance, there are those who think false assumptions and spread rumors about us. Devonians are renowned for our kindness, actually.”

The Devonians are goblin-like beings originating from the First Land.[1]

History[]

Background[]

The Devonians emerged as a distinct race in the Realm of Oni and Dragons, historically governed by the Devonian King in ancient epochs. Although their physical features may convey a sense of aggression, they are a benevolent race. Unfortunately, their appearance has led to widespread misconceptions and unfounded rumors from dragons,[2][3] one of which what was caused by the Oni during the time of the War of Oni and Dragon[4] that falsely claims that the Devonians process Dragon Ivory into their food for battle, thereby enhancing their strength while simultaneously heightening their fury, despite the capability not being exclusive to them.[5] It is implied that the Devonians have access to and have knowledge of ancient languages, like writing, such as Zur who could translate an extinct language from the Book of Ceremonies.

At some point, a descendant of the Devonian King, Zur, became the Elemental Master of Reflex.

Dragons Rising, Season 2[]

Master Zur had received an invitation to the Tournament of the Sources, and travelled to the City of Temples. The night after the pre-tournament banquet, Zur was attacked by an attacker bot that was sent by Bleckt, although the was able to defeat the bot, he, along with other guests suspected that Zant-Tanz was involved in the assassination attempt, and advocated for his banishment.[6] The following day, Zur was and Zane were the first masters to face off, due to Bleckt rigging the game, Zur was able to defeat Zane, who was caught off guard by his Ice melting quickly.[7] A few days afterwards, Zur fought Frak, but was defeated by the Serpentine when he used advice from his previous opponent, Cole, and used the element of Earth to catapult Zur off the arena.[5] A few days after being eliminated from the game, Zur befriended Wyldfyre and helped her translate Bleckt's ledger that was written in Devonian, the two exposed Bleckt, who rigged the tournament in favor of the Wolf Clan.[2] Zur later fought the corrupted Wolf Mask Warriors and celebrated Sora's victory after regaining his powers.[8]
