“One day, as the First Spinjitzu Master meditated, he foresaw an event when all the realms would crash together. He called this event "the Coalescence", and he knew its time would soon be upon them. So he appeared before the seven Source Dragons and begged of them to freely give energy so he could forge three Dragon Cores. The Dragon Cores kept the Coalescence at bay. The realms were prevented from smashing into one another.”

The Dragon Cores were extraordinary orb-like relics forged from the energy of the seven Source Dragons, containing their immense power in a concentrated form. Initially, there were only three Dragon Cores until Jordana harnessed the raw energy of the Source Dragon of Energy to create a fourth one, albeit it was destroyed shortly thereafter. Subsequently, Lloyd used the remaining Dragon Cores to quell the MergeQuakes. However, in a selfless act, he ultimately sacrificed the Dragon Cores to liberate the captive Source Dragon from his confinement. It is unknown what happen to the three cores after the Source Dragon of Energy took them.

History[]

Background[]

To prevent the Coalescence, the First Spinjitzu Master sought assistance from the Source Dragons and requested their dragon power. Utilizing their energy, he forged three Dragon Cores, which effectively halted the Coalescence and prevented the merging of realms. However, due to concerns regarding the potential misuse of the cores by malevolent forces, the First Spinjitzu Master made the decision to conceal the Dragon Cores in three distinct locations, entrusting them to different beings. The purple Dragon Core was entrusted to the Lava-Tides residing in the Wyldness, while the pink Dragon Core was bestowed upon the Mucoids dwelling in the Mother Garden. Lastly, the yellow Dragon Core was entrusted to its guardian in the Pinnacle of Crystals.[1][2][3]

However, as centuries went by, the guardian of the yellow Dragon Core unfortunately lost possession of the core, which would later end up at the Land of Lost Things. It was there that the original owner of the Rookery stumbled upon the yellow Dragon Core. With great ingenuity, the owner constructed a specialized machine specifically tailored for the yellow Dragon Core. The Rookery was eventually stumbled upon by runaways known as the Finders. During their time, they soon discovered the yellow Dragon Core and its machine, which could repel the Hoarder.[4]

Dragons Rising, Season 1[]

Learning of the Dragons Cores, the Ninja split up into different groups, while Zane was left behind to investigate the mysterious portal gates.

Kai and Wyldfyre getting the Purple Dragon Core from the Lava-Tides. Although due to the Lava-Tides past emity with Wyldfyre they refused to give her the Dragon Core but Kai convinced them if she cleans up her mess, then they agree. Kai and Wyldfyre cleaned up the Lava-Tides' village but the Lava-Tide Leader was surprised that Wyldfyre managed to make amends and blasts the core up into the air landing into the Pit of No Return to make her suffer even more. Kai and Wyldfyre manage to get the core but ran into Dorama and his stagehands. During the fight, Dorama manage to swipe the real Purple Dragon Core with a fake one, which Kai and and Wyldfyre didn't realized until after they were halfway to the Monastery of Spinjitzu.

Lloyd and Arin went after the Pink Dragon Core in the Mother Garden guarded by the Mucoids. They passed the Mucoids' test but lost the core to The Administration, where they found Zane, who was taken by two Administration Agents, who forced him to work in the mail room. After Arin and Lloyd explain their reason for being in the Administration, Zane researches it on a computer and discovered the core has been deemed a highly hazardous Class B artifact, scheduled to be destroyed to reach the Department of Demolitions. Zane, Lloyd, and Arin got separated while traveling through the chute tubes, where Lloyd ends up on the demolition level, where a Nindroid agent in a mech prepares to put the core on a conveyor belt to a furnace and Arin ends up in Department of Reassignment. Lloyd manage to get the Dragon Core, as Zane stole a Spinjitzu Race Car from one of the departments he landed in, and used it to drive out the department and into the office spaces. After completing triplicate forms for a punch card, Zane and the others left the Administration and brought it back to the Monastery of Spinjitzu for safekeeping.

Meanwhile with Nya, Sora, and Riyu, the two rode Jiro and Sora to find the Yellow Dragon Core. In an ancient tomb in the Pinnacle of Crystals where the Yellow Dragon Core was locate, the girls discover that the guardians of the Yellow Dragon Core was missing. Nya brought a sack of gemstones called Seeker Stones from the Cloud Kingdom, which she intended on using them to find the Yellow Dragon Core once they reach the burial vault. Although because the two used them without proper guidance, they ended up getting cursed by them, resulting in being hunted by Howlers. When dragon Sora noticed the curse, she took them to a sanctum, which was inhabited by her old ally Arrakore, who revealed Sora was actually named Zanth. After defeating the Howlers, Arrakore help the two and created a magic compass to help locate the Yellow Dragon Core, which lead the group to the Land of Lost Things. The group reunited with Cole, and meet Geo and the Finders, who were using the Dragon Core to keep The Hoarder at bay. Although As Sora creates a alternative, Dr. LaRow arrived in the Land of Lost Things looking for the Yellow Dragon Core. Using her upgraded drones, she snagged the Yellow Dragon Core and escaped while the other ninja were fighting The Hoarder. While Nya and Sora chased ofter Dr. LaRow, Cole heard Master Wu's voice and went to follow it.

After Lloyd heard that Imperium has two Dragon Cores, he lead Arin, Zane, Kai, and Wyldfyre back to Imperium where they meet the Imperium Teen Resistance Force. Although unknown to them Dorama and Dr. LaRow were put into the MergeQuake Weapon for testing. To create a third Dragon Core, for the weapon, Beatrix had Jordana drain the Source Dragon of Energy to create the Imperium Dragon Core. When that was done, the Imperium, Purple, and Yellow Dragon Cores were used to power the MergeQuake Weapon for Beatrix's usage. Thanks to Sora unlocking her True Potential, she destroyed the Imperium Dragon Core.

After defeating Beatrix, Zane contacted Alfonzo Frohicky took the Yellow Dragon Core to meet up with the ninja in the Crossroads. Lloyd used the Cores to stabilize the MergeQuake Storm. Afterwards, Lloyd and Riyu took the Dragon Cores to the Source Dragon of Energy, and used them to allow the Source Dragon to be freed without destabilizing the Merged Realms.

LEGO Brawls[]

The First Spinjitzu Master created three Dragon Cores, yellow, purple and pink that are linked in ancient scrolls to a coalescence. Nya believes they have the power to stop MergeQuakes for good. The location of these Cores is hidden at the temple to the Dragon Cores inside the World Tree. The existence of these Cores leads the ninja to believe that the First Spinjitzu Master and his son Master Wu predicted the Merge and believed that they had the means to prevent it. Lloyd uses the three Cores to end the MergeQuakes and free the Source Dragon from below the Imperium.[5]
