- Not to be confused with another magician.
Egon the Extraordinary is a magician in Ninjago.
History[]
Background[]
Egon was once a demolitions expert who worked for Znap Construction. In spite of his humble background, the man had always dreamed of becoming a magician and performer. One day, after the Liberation of Ninjago, Egon demolished an abandoned warehouse in the Village in the valley and accidentally discovered the entrance to a long forgotten tomb beneath. Descending into the tomb, Egon discovered a variety of strange artifacts, including one he would claim for himself. Now calling himself Egon the Extraordinary, the man used the artifact he had since dubbed the "whirlwand," to start the life he had always dreamed of.
Amber Spiral[]
Egon was performing his act at the Red Star Carnival, using his magic wand to stack chairs in the air, when Chamille, using her elemental powers, jumped on stage pretending to be Egon. This broke his concentration, causing his chairs to fall and he was laughed off the stage by spectators.
Chamille suggested that she and Skylor try talking to the performers at the carnival, but after knocking on Egon's trailer, the still infuriated magician used the whirlwand to throw all the furniture in his trailer at them. Unfortunately with nothing else to throw at them, Skylor easily relieved him of the whirlwand, forcing Egon to explain that he only wanted to scare Chamille away because as a result of her antics, he did not receive any payment for his performances for the entire day. Skylor then returned the whirlwand to Egon and explained her quest to find her mother, including recurring dreams she had been experiencing of an unknown tomb. Recognizing the tomb in Skylor's dreams as the one where he found the whirlwand, Egon agreed to take both women to the tomb.
The next morning, Egon brought the women to the tomb as promised, where Skylor ordered him and Chamille to stay behind and stand guard while she descended alone into the tomb. After Skylor failed to return for some time, however, Egon and Chamille descended into the tomb in search for her, with both calling out Skylor's name. After finding Skylor's unconscious body however, Chamille's temptations got the best of her and she chose to leave her allies behind in favor of stealing several artifacts, leaving Egon alone to tend to Skylor. He would later reveal Chamille's betrayal to Skylor after the latter regained consciousness and assisted her in gathering the remaining artifacts from the tomb, reluctantly giving up the whirlwand in the process. After giving up the whirlwand, Egon briefly lamented that he would never be a real magician without it and he would have to return to his former career at the construction yards, but Skylor encouraged him to learn to be a real magician instead of taking shortcuts like had previously.

Behind the scenes[]
- Egon uses Lord Vampyre's torso from Monster Fighters, Tournament Cole's legs from Ninjago, and, in his second image, Gorilla Suit Guy's face from Minifigures Series 3.
Trivia[]
- Even though Egon's wand is said to be made of Chronosteel, its appearance is closer to that of Blue Crystal. Both materials were found in Chen's Staff of Elements, of which Skylor notes the similarities.
