Fenwick is the former Master Writer of the Cloud Kingdom.
History[]
Prior to the series[]
Around 10,000 years before the ghost invasion in Stiix,[1] Fenwick, along with his brother Quanish, were born in the Cloud Kingdom, and they grew up to rule the Cloud Kingdom together. Fenwick believed people that had to be governed, but Quanish believed that people in the other realms needed to have their own free will and be able to forge their own destiny, which resulted in the latter being banished to Ninjago.[2]
Before Kingdom Come[]
Fenwick came into contact with Bansha and the Preeminent, who threatened to curse the realms but needed to arrange for Morro's escape into Ninjago. Fearing for his life, Fenwick bartered with the two, eventually coming upon an agreement—in exchange for ensuring Morro's escape from the Cursed Realm by prophecy, his life would be spared.
Kingdom Come[]
When the ninja arrived at Cloud Kingdom seeking the Sword of Sanctuary, Fenwick greeted them, pretending not to be the head writer. He showed them through the main hall, explaining how they wrote destinies for the people of Ninjago. He then took them on a boat ride where he explained of the realms and The Preeminent before locking them in the lair of Nimbus. Fenwick then returned to the main hall and welcomed Morro to the Cloud Kingdom. He was quickly approached by Nobu about the ninja, though reassured the writer that his destiny was now secure, Fenwick was later chased away by Nimbus after Nobu changed his destiny. After this, he was banished from the Cloud Kingdom for his actions.
The Splinter in the Blind Man's Eye[]
Fenwick ran as Nimbus chased him across Cloud Kingdom. Attempting to retrieve scrolls for the Sky Pirates and Clouse to aid him, Nimbus ripped half of his face off, leading to both falling from Cloud Kingdom.
Later on, Fenwick rewrote Clouse's and the Sky Pirates' destinies to attack the Temple of Light and later, for the Sky Pirates except Clancee to come to him. After taking up residence in the abandoned Hanging Temple in the Wailing Alps he became known as the ethereal Wishmaster, "granting" wishes by changing people's destinies. It was said that those who came back were changed forever, though many others were kept in a village in his temple. The stories of his wish granting reached Lloyd Garmadon, who made a journey with Clancee to him.
Lloyd was later brought to Fenwick where he was coerced into helping him retrieve his scroll by killing Yana and threatening to kill Clancee with Nimbus.
Appearance[]
Fenwick appears to be a somewhat elderly man, with gray hair, brown eyebrows, and some wrinkles. As a result of being mauled by Nimbus, Fenwick lost the flesh on the right side of his face, leaving his skull exposed.
Personality[]
While Fenwick outwardly presents himself as calm, contained, and even a bit wise, he has proven to be a selfish and manipulative coward that values his own life over everyone else's, even resorting to underhanded trickery to deal with his enemies.
When his machinations turned against him, Fenwick was reduced to running in terror from his deserved punishment, after Nobu wrote his destiny after finding out, further showing his cowardice.
Abilities[]
Like all writers in the Cloud Kingdom, Fenwick had the power to write and/or alter one's destiny.

Behind the scenes[]
- He has the same hairpiece as Roman Emperor from Minifigures Series 9 but without the laurel wreath.
- He has a similar face design to Chuck from "Wu's Teas." This design was previously used on Cole's grandfather and originates from Aragorn, a LEGO The Lord of the Rings character, though Fenwick and Chuck lack the facial hair seen on Aragorn and Cole's grandfather.
- His appearance following his exile from the Cloud Kingdom is likely a reference to the fatal injuries Gustavo Fring sustains in Breaking Bad.
Trivia[]
- It's implied on LEGO.com that the reason Morro was able to defy his destiny to remain cursed was due to Fenwick's intervention, by rewriting his destiny.[3]
- Fenwick is the opposite of Hutchins. While the ninja are suspicious of Hutchins, he is actually protecting the Royal Family. The ninja see Fenwick an ally at first, while he is actually betraying the Cloud Kingdom.
- According to Tommy Andreasen, Fenwick is probably over 10,000 years old in Ninjago's realm years.[4]
