Unagami and Milton make amends with each other

Milton Dyer is Unagami's creator and "Father." He got the name from the working title Unfinished Adventure Game 1.

Unagami was loyal to him and obeyed his orders. However, he took them too literally, as when Milton told Unagami to give Scott an intense gaming experience, Unagami assumed it was to have him enter Prime Empire. Upon learning what had happened, Milton blamed Unagami for his mistake and was forced to shut him down while not knowing it was even alive, leaving Unagami hurt, angered, and confused. 30 years after the incident, Unagami created the Manifestation Gate to enter Ninjago and confront Dyer.

When seeing Dyer after 30 years, Unagami's first reaction to seeing Milton Dyer was an attempted rush at him, but was prevented by Jay. Dyer approaches his creation and explains that he was afraid and did not know Unagami was a living being. Unagami begins to change forms from his current state and a small child from his words. Milton Dyer then apologizes to Unagami for abandoning him and promises to treat him as one of his own and take him home.

Touched, Unagami is reformed and turns the players back from being Energy Cubes and back into the real world. He also allowed whoever was from the game to stay in Ninjago as well, making his creator happy that he had begun learning so much. Later, Unagami and Milton Dyer are seen holding hands together and walking towards the sunset, happy to be reunited as a family.

Okino[]

“You were born in this realm. A place of illusion, a shadow of the real world. But you are not bound to this place. I am building a machine. A wondrous device that will allow you to enter the real world. Would you like to go there?”

Unagami and Okino

Okino is the "son" of Unagami. After Okino betrayed his creator by helping the ninja obtaining the Purple Key-Tana, Unagami gained hatred for him and promised that he'll never leave Prime Empire.

When Okino told Unagami about the ninja saying that Prime Empire was only a game, Unagami admitted that the ninja were right but told Okino that he intends to construct a machine that would allow him to travel to Ninjago and questions Okino if he would like to go there as well. Despite Unagami's desire for Okino to betray the ninja, the honorable samurai refused.

During "Game Over," Unagami was successful in using his machine and released his creations on Ninjago. Okino was released as well and saved many civilians. After Jay helped Dyer and Unagami reconcile, Unagami released all the people including the ones from Prime Empire to live out free and real lives in Ninjago, Okino included.

NPCs[]

“Not just the ones from this realm, also the ones from Prime Empire. They too deserve freedom.”
“You learn quickly.”
Unagami and Milton Dyer, about the NPCs, "Game Over"

During "Game Over," Unagami used the Manifestation Gate to open a portal to reality and released his creations on Ninjago, creating havoc. After Jay helped Dyer and Unagami reconcile, Unagami released the players at Dyer's request and he agreed while also releasing the characters from the game to live out free and real lives in Ninjago. Most of the NPCs were excited at the thought of a new beginning, while some preferred to continue their lives in the game.

Allies[]

The Mechanic (formerly)[]

Unagami and the Mechanic

The Mechanic and Unagami had secretly been working together for many weeks prior to "Upgrade." After robbing the Ninjago City Bank, the Mechanic reported to Unagami that the heist had been successful. He asked Unagami who he was, but Unagami kept it a secret. The Mechanic asked Unagami if he would help him with another project, only to find his partner shut himself off. The Mechanic later requested for a new arm that he could feel with. Unagami then printed blueprints for a new cybernetic arm. After the Mechanic finished building the arm, he asked who Unagami was and the latter revealed his name.

In "Level Thirteen," Unagami releases the Mechanic and the other Kryptarium Prison inmates after the Mechanic was caught by the ninja. However, he tells the Mechanic that it would be game over for him if he failed again.

During the Final prophecy of Quanish the Elder, Unagami fought alongside the Resistance against the Overlord's Crystal army, which the Mechanic was apart of.

Enemies[]

Ninja (formerly)[]

“All you must do is to remain silent. Let them perish. Do not help them.”

Unagami was the ninja's main adversary during Prime Empire's resurfacing. Although the ninja didn't know much about Unagami, they planned to stop him after they learned that the Mechanic was working with him and many of the citizens of Ninjago City were missing.

Later on he attended Nya's memorial at the Monastery.

Unagami is one of the many allies to fight alongside the Resistance against the Crystal army, and witness Kai, Jay, Cole, and Zane achieve Dragon Form. After the Overlord's defeat, Unagami assists the ninja in rebuilding the monastery.

Jay[]

“You're angry - you're angry at Dyer because he tried to shut you down? Because he abandoned you? You think that'll fix anything? You think that'll make you feel better?”
Jay to Unagami, "The Temple of Madness"
Ninjago–(Ep

Unagami and Jay

Out of all the ninja, Jay is one of the two ninja to know about Unagami's abandonment. However, unlike Zane, Jay is the only one who could relate to him.

After Unagami confronted Jay at the Temple of Madness, he congratulates him for beating the game. However, when Jay said that Unagami was Milton Dyer, the latter became confused and said that Dyer is actually is his creator and plans to confront him. After the Manifestation Gate was completed, Jay attacks him in an attempt stop him from going through and harming innocent people. Despite Jay's actions, Unagami became enraged and attempts to kill him by transforming in the Empire Dragon and attacking him. He soon grows impatient of Jay interfering, so he goes through the gate, leaving Jay to the many Red Visors approaching.

In "Game Over," Unagami attacks Jay until he destroyed the Cyber Dragon. However, before Unagami could do any more harm to him, Jay told Unagami to calm down, and that he understands how he feels and that he was abandoned by his parents too and never knew why.

He is shown to listen to Jay's pleads, as stopped attacking him at the top of Borg Tower and returning to his current state from the Empire Dragon.

In Quest for the Lost Powers, Unagami came across Jay, who had gotten lost from a nearby hotel before they move to explore a lost city, where Jay managed to recover his lost Elemental Power, and got the both of them out when the city started to crumble. After the events, Unagami started to consider Jay and Nya as a brother and sister.
