The Toxic Bogs is a large, acidic, and poisonous swamp in Ninjago that hides the Venomari Tomb.

Landscape

The Toxic Bogs are filled with acid lakes, which, as demonstrated by Kai, can easily burn through the wood. The ground is muddy, and there are many trees and vines growing on the islands amid the acid.

The Venomari and the Constrictai (possibly all Serpentine) can survive under the acid lakes without harm.

In LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin, a rare fruit known as the "Inky Lemonberry" grows in a clearing deep in the heart of the bogs which can be used to make Tea of Insight.

History

Spellbound (flashback)

At the Toxic Bogs, Maya took control of the Venomari by using a Sacred Flute and lured them to the Venomari Tomb.

Can of Worms

When the ninja were sent on a mission to stop Pythor from uniting the tribes, Kai and Jay had to investigate the Toxic Bogs. Upon arriving, they saw no Serpentine activity whatsoever. While Jay was distracted by echoing into the empty Venomari Tomb, Kai was unexpectedly faced with Spitta who sprayed him with venom. Kai began hallucinating as more Serpentine appeared, seeing them as Christmas elves and gingerbread men. Jay was too distracted to hear Kai's plead for help.

As the Serpentine cornered Kai, Cole and Zane arrived. However, Pythor jumped out of the Venomari Tomb, and when Zane went to play the Sacred Flute, Pythor snatched it away. The Serpentine cornered all four ninja on a log atop the acid lake, though before the log could completely dissolve, a rope provided by Samurai X suddenly appeared and they climbed to safety. Samurai X scared off the Serpentine, and when the ninja approached the Samurai to show their gratitude, they were sprayed with a gas that made them lose consciousness. As the Samurai fled the scene, the ninja passed out on the ground. They were found when the Destiny's Bounty flew in above them, shining a light onto them.

The Curse of the Golden Master

While visiting the Ninjago City Aquarium with the rest of the students, Brad Tudabone complains to Dareth that they should have gone to the Toxic Bogs instead.

Codename: Arcturus

Lloyd briefly visits the Toxic Bogs on his motorcycle in search of Pythor and Cyrus Borg, before moving on to the Glacier Barrens.

Shadow of Ronin (non-canon)

In order to regain their memories, the ninja seek out Hibiki, who instructs them to find an Inky Lemon Berry to brew the Tea of Insight, as a means to figure out their next plan of action. After fighting off several Venomari that were brainwashed by Ronin, they succeeded in brewing the tea, and after drinking it, gained visions of the Obsidian Weapons and their locations, prompting them to leave.
