Fungus is a member of the Upply and a skilled magician.
History[]
Background[]
Accompanied by Plundar and Korgran, Fungus received a mission from Vangelis to retrieve the artifact called the Skull of Hazza D'ur from the Dungeons of Shintaro. The purpose of this mission was to deliver the artifact to Vangelis for its ultimate destruction. Fungus and the Lowly ventured into the dangerous dungeons. Along the way, they encountered giant spiders, but Fungus skillfully used his magic to freeze them, except for Adam, who willingly joined their group. Together, the four of them successfully navigated through perilous traps, until they finally stumbled upon the highly sought-after skull. As Korgran reached out and grabbed the skull, a surge of Dark Magic briefly coursed through his body, causing Fungus and Plundar to watch in terror. However, Korgran used his axe to securely carry the skull, ensuring its safe return to Vangelis.
Upon witnessing the successful completion of the Lowly's quest, Vangelis felt a sense of satisfaction, appreciating the efforts that had been put into it. Fungus, acknowledging the triumph, confirmed the success and agreed with Vangelis' sentiment. However, Vangelis held a different perspective, suggesting that the immense power possessed by the skull could be harnessed for the betterment of the Kingdom of Shintaro. Respectfully disagreeing with Vangelis, Fungus cautioned about the dangerous nature of the skull. Realizing that the Lowly shared the same viewpoint, Vangelis reluctantly accepted their stance, hinting at his apprehension regarding the potential consequences. Curious about Vangelis' cryptic statement, Fungus inquired further, only to have Vangelis send the Lowly down the Pit, effectively trapping them in Rock-Bottom.
Master of the Mountain[]
The Real Fall[]
Upon their arrival at Rock-Bottom, Cole was greeted by Fungus and the rest of the Lowly. Having been banished by Vangelis, Cole, Vania, and Wu found solace in Fungus' assurance that they had reached a secure haven. Fungus proceeded to provide them with an explanation of Rock-Bottom.
Dungeon Party![]
After regaining consciousness, Cole was greeted by Fungus and introduced to the rest of the Lowly. Realizing that the Lowly were adventurers, Cole voiced his need for assistance in their quest. However, Fungus declined, claiming that his schedule was overwhelming. Later, Fungus confessed that their previous quest had ended disastrously. Once the explanation was complete, Cole reassured the Lowly, Wu, and Vania that they would devise a plan to escape Rock-Bottom and seek justice against Vangelis. Inspired by their determination, Cole decided to rename the Lowly as the "Upply," a name that represented their rise to the Kingdom of Shintaro.
Dungeon Crawl![]
Plundar was feeling frustrated with Cole's inability to find a way out, but Fungus encouraged him to change his perspective and approach their predicament from a different angle. As the team reached a dead end, Fungus reassured Cole by pointing out that even the Upply had been struggling to escape Rock-Bottom for years, which only added to Cole's annoyance. Ultimately, the dead end forced Fungus and the rest of the team to turn back and return to Rock-Bottom. Cole tapped into his Elemental Energy, which manifested a glowing trail leading the way to their escape from Rock-Bottom. Fungus, along with the rest of the team, followed closely behind Cole, relying on his guidance to navigate through the labyrinthine tunnels as they swam their way out. As they approached a lava stream, Cole's powers became crucial in determining their path forward. They managed to traverse the stream, only to be confronted by a Lava Monster blocking their way.
Fungus and the group evaded the relentless attacks of the monster, searching for a way to defeat it. Cole devised a plan, instructing Fungus to divert the attention of the Lava Monster. Fungus, however, was determined to do more than just provide a mere distraction. Utilizing his magical abilities, he conjured a spell that froze the Lava Monster in its tracks, rendering it immobile for a brief moment. Adam swiftly hurled a massive boulder towards the incapacitated creature, delivering a crushing blow that left the Lava Monster unconscious. Fungus, filled with a newfound optimism, recognized that it had been quite some time since experiencing this sensation. He conveyed his conviction that they now had a chance to triumph and urged Cole to lead the way.
Masters Never Quit[]
Fungus and the rest tried to outrun the Lava Monster. They stumbled upon a set of minecarts and quickly hopped on, using them as a means of evading the creature. The minecarts took them on a ride deep into the Heart of the Mountain, leaving Fungus feeling disoriented and bewildered by their surroundings. Wu took the opportunity to enlighten the team about the profound significance of the temple, as it housed the sacred teachings of the Spinjitzu Burst, a unique form of Spinjitzu that could only be harnessed by an Elemental Master when they were close to their respective element. However, these teachings were exclusively known by Earth Elementals.
As the team ventured further into the temple, they stumbled upon the Stone Mech, which Fungus believed had been used in the temple's creation. Vania recommended Cole that the Spinjitzu Burst could potentially be used to defeat Vangelis. With a mix of anticipation and trepidation, Fungus and the rest of the team watched as Cole attempted to harness the Spinjitzu Burst. Unfortunately, despite his efforts, the attempt proved to be unsuccessful, leaving them uncertain of their next move. Just as they were grappling with this setback, a sudden and powerful tremor shook Shintaro Mountain, causing Fungus and his companions to startle in alarm. Acting on instinct, Fungus tapped into his magic to gain insight into the cause of the tremor. To their astonishment, they witnessed the remaining ninja being chased by Grief-Bringer.
The Ascent[]
Fungus and the others readied themselves under Wu's guidance, brainstorming for a strategy. Cole proposed his plan, suggesting the utilization of minecarts and the Stone Mech to ascend to the Kingdom of Shintaro. While Korgran and Plundar initially were concerned about the plan's potential risks, Fungus and the rest of the group were convinced by Cole's idea, ultimately persuading Korgran and Plundar to also give their approval.
Fungus and the rest of the team installed the minecart wheels onto the Stone Mech, all the while uncovering the fact that the mech drew its power from Elemental Powers. As Cole gained control over the mech, the Upply and Wu hopped onto the minecarts, commencing their ascent. As they made their way, an unexpected encounter with the Lava Monster triggered a frenzied pursuit as they desperately tried to evade the creature while simultaneously fending off a swarm of Dire Bats. Cole emerged victorious over the Lava Monster, effectively rescuing Fungus and the team from a perilous plunge into the lava below. However, the intense heat radiating from the lava-engulfed Stone Mech caused the controls to dangerously overheat, leaving the team with no choice but to swiftly escape from the dungeons and make their way back to the Kingdom of Shintaro. Overwhelmed with sheer joy, Fungus and the Upply couldn't contain their excitement as they celebrated their newfound freedom.
As Fungus and the others stepped into the throne room, they were faced with the Army of Shintaro. Little did the army know that Vangelis had manipulated the situation by spreading false accusations against Cole, labeling him and his fellow ninja as traitors. Chaos ensued as a fierce battle erupted, but amidst the chaos, Fungus, the rest of the Upply, and Cole hurriedly made their way back to the Dungeons of Shintaro, determined to save the ninja.

He also has brown gloves and boots and a white cape that is lilac from the inside and held by a white and gray-purple chestplate. During the years of imprisonment at Rock-Bottom, his uniform was stained with dirt and fungi/mushrooms began growing on his hat as well as his shirt.
