Trivia[]
- This comic series is the first present-day appearance of Garmadon since "Endings."
- Ironically, the final issue of the series is called "Beginnings," paralleling the name of the final episode of Season 10.
- This series is produced by Skybound Entertainment,[3] best known for the comic series of The Walking Dead and Invincible.
- Garmadon's design on the cover of the book looks similar to his movie counterpart's jungle design from The LEGO Ninjago Movie.
- When asked why Garmadon has white hair in his comic series, Tri Vuong replied: "It seemed natural to me that Garmadon's hair would be white because his eyebrows are white! I know he had black hair before but for some reason, I feel like the modern Garmadon would have white hair and had assumed that's what other people thought too. Didn't realize it would come as such as shock but I'm glad its been pretty well received so far."[8]
- On August 24, 2022, LEGO released three covers illustrated by Takeshi Miyazawa[9] to be chosen by fans through LEGO Ideas. This special limited edition cover is only available in Skybound and LEGO's online stores.[6]
- The special edition cover was released in LEGO's online stores on January 26, 2023 with purchases limited to 1 per household.[10]
- It is confirmed to be canon by multiple sources, though the TV series does not acknowledge its events. This is likely due to the fact that the comic series was not planned until after Crystalized had already been written.
- In addition, when Vuong was planning out Issue 1, he accidentally received an email about how Garmadon was only supposed to have two arms instead of four until he was ready to go into battle mode.[11]
