Garmadon Attacks! is the 9th issue of Legacy edition of the Ninjago Magazine. It comes with 112109 Wu vs. Garmadon.
Shadow of the Past[]
Wu meditates in a forest, remarking that one must enjoy the calm, as you can never know when the storm is coming. Without warning, Wu then strikes a nearby bush with his Bo staff, striking Spitta, who had been hiding inside. Irritated, the Venomari Soldier exits the bush and demands for Wu to explain how the latter knew he was hiding there. As Wu threatens the snake with his staff, Lizaru reveals himself from behind another tree and calls Wu's attention before spitting acid into his eyes, incapacitating him. The two Venomari haul Wu into a wheelbarrow and make preparations to deliver him to Pythor.
Meanwhile, Wu sees himself back in the Monastery of Spinjitzu, surrounded by his students. Although Wu believes he had made his way home, his students insist that none of this is real - a side effect of the Venomari venom. Just that moment, a giant version of Wu's brother, Garmadon, emerges from outside of the monastery's walls and begins attacking Wu and his students as Cole urges for Wu to shake off the effects of the venom before the Venomari deliver him to Pythor.
Back inside Wu's dream, Giant Garmadon laments his fate, blaming Wu for his turn to evil. Wu attempts to apologize to his brother, wishing he had done more to save him from the bite of the Great Devourer. His apology unfortunately falls on deaf ears, and Giant Garmadon destroys the Monastery with another massive blow, unleashing enough force to send Wu and the Ninja flying into the hills below. Despite surviving their fall and retreating deeper into the woods, Giant Garmadon was able to quickly catch up to Wu and the Ninja, bellowing that Wu shall pay for his failure as he summons an entire army of normal-sized Garmadons, ordering them to destroy his brother and his students.
As the Ninja fight desperately against the never ending waves of Garmadons, Wu quietly sits down, despondent and in despair. The guilt he had carried for countless years is too overwhelming. As the tide begins to turn against the Ninja, they turn towards Wu for help, reminding him that even though none of this was real, and they themselves are but figments of Wu's imagination, Wu had to snap out of his daze and wake up. "Don't let your guilt destroy you!" they plead, but Wu can only hesitantly reply, "I...can't. I'm a failure." In response, the Ninja remind Wu of his teachings and how through training them, Wu had saved hundreds of others. Yes, he had failed Garmadon, but that was in the past; his students in the real world and many others still needed him right now and he could not just give up on them! With his spirit reinvigorated, Wu struck down Giant Garmadon and his Garmadon Army with a powerful tornado of Creation Spinjitzu. Bidding his dream students farewell, Wu awoke back in the real world, escaping from the wheelbarrow while the two Venomari struggled to find their way through the forest.

Trivia[]
- The original four ninja, and Wu, appear in their legacy uniforms but Nya appears in her original casual outfit.
- This could possibly be explained on the basis that the Ninja only appear in this comic as being part of Wu's dream and do not actually physically appear.
- However, this comic is set during Season 1: Rise of the Snakes, as the Venomari mention that they were intending to deliver Wu to Pythor.
