The golden sarcophagus is an ancient Serpentine coffin formerly located in the Ninjago Museum of History.
History[]
Prior to Child's Play[]
At one point, archaeologists managed to discover the golden sarcophagus and placed it to the Ninjago Museum of History.
Child's Play[]
When Garmadon escaped with the Serpentine from the museum, the ninja wanted to follow them, but they noticed Skales, Fangtom, Acidicus, and Skalidor stealing the golden sarcophagus, and they began to pursue them. The Serpentine generals managed to carry the sarcophagus a few streets from the museum, but when they wanted to enter the sewers, the sarcophagus did not fit into the hole, so Skales ordered them to leave him on the street and flee on their own.
When the ninja turned into children, Kai noted that he found the sarophagus larger than before. When the police arrived at the scene, they thought the ninja had stolen the sarcophagus, so the sarcophagus and the ninja took back to the museum.
A Time of Traitors[]
When the Time Twins kidnapped Cyrus Borg, they hid him in the golden sarcophagus in the museum.
Later, when Kai came to the museum and began fighting Krux, Acronix wanted to go help him, but the sarcophagus fell and knocked the door into a secret base. Eventually, he managed to get out and attack, but Kai noticed that Borg was in the openened sarcophagus and wanted to help him, but without success. However, when Nya came to the museum to help him, they managed to defeat Krux together by falling him into the sarcophagus that closed. However, Acronix ran to the sarcophagus and disappeared with his brother, Borg and the sarcophagus.
Scavengers[]
The sarcophagus was carried by some of the captured mechanics as the Time Twins made their way through the sewers.

Trivia[]

Ancient Serpentine sarcophagi used by the Pyro Vipers
- It is unknown whether the sarcophagus has any connection to the Pyro Vipers, as they buried their dead species in similar coffins.
- When asked if there was a connection between the sarcophagus and the Pyro Vipers, Tommy Andreasen answered that "there may be more mysteries to uncover."[1]
- However, according to Tommy Andreasen, it is possible that the mummy that was originally stored in the sarcophagus belonged to Mambo V.[2]
- In 2016, Tommy Andreasen revealed on X that the sarcophagus would reappear in the series, which was confirmed in "A Time of Traitors."[3]
- The golden sarcophagus is the second indication that the ancient Serpentine culture was inspired by ancient Egypt, which is confirmed in Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu. The first was the Serpentine Pyramid.
