The Grasslands is a world occupied by the First Spinjitzu Master since his death.
History[]
Prior to the series[]
At some point, the First Spinjitzu Master summoned Quanish the Elder to the Grasslands and offered him to stay, but the latter declined, saying that he had something yet to do in Ninjago.[2]
Endings[]
After defeating the Oni with the Tornado of Creation, Lloyd fell unconscious and woke up in the Grasslands. He then met the First Spinjitzu Master himself, who thanked Lloyd for all that he did for Ninjago. The First Spinjitzu Master then gave Lloyd two choices: Either stay in the Grasslands with him or return to Ninjago. Lloyd chose to return to Ninjago and the First Spinjitzu Master returned him to it. Before leaving, however, Lloyd asked the First Spinjitzu Master how he could save his father, Garmadon.[3]
The Splinter in the Blind Man's Eye[]
Long after his first visit, the First Spinjitzu Master summoned Quanish to the Grasslands once again, and the two spoke about their previous encounters and Quanish's search for answers in Ninjago. The First Spinjitzu Master told him that he would have all the answers he could ever want if he stayed, and Quanish accepted the offer, leaving behind his mortal body in Ninjago.

Trivia[]
- The location and nature of the Grasslands are undisclosed.[4]
- However, the Grasslands match the description of the Departed Realm given by Claire's mother in the 18th chapter of Way of the Departed.
- In "The Temple of the Dragon Cores," it was said that First Spinjitzu Master knew that his time in the realms would end. So, considering that, the Grasslands appear to be not tied to any realm in existence. Or, it could just mean that his time in the non-death realms are over.
- According to Chris "Doc" Wyatt, the Grasslands are located outside the realms and were not affected by the Merge.[1]
- This is further confirmed by him saying the Grasslands isn't part of the Sixteen Realms.[5]
- The floating mountains strikingly resemble Mount Cavora from Chima.
- The cover of The Splinter in the Blind Man's Eye chapter 7 appears to feature the clouds and floating mountains from the Grasslands, though they do not appear in the chapter itself.[6]
- It seems to act as the light counterpart to the Overlord's void, both are mysterious places occupied by their respective owners who are beings that transcend death.
- According to Tommy Andreasen, the void was originally intended to have a similar design to the Grasslands, with floating rocks, but in a different color scheme. In the end, however, they abandoned it, as it would have been too expensive to design and animate an entirely new location for such a short scene.[7]
