- For the city, see City of Imperium.
Imperium is one of the realms. It is a vast land of desert in which the city of the same name, the capital of the realm, is located, as well as the Land of Lost Things, a desolate valley that was thought to be a myth. The technology within the realm is more advanced than others, and it relies solely on dragon power.
History[]
Background[]
The realm came into existence at an unknown point in time In the realm of Imperium, the Kingdom of Imperium was a harmonious civilization where Imperians and dragons coexisted in tranquility. The dragons willingly contributed their dragon energy to sustain the power of kingdom. However, the arrival of Ras disrupted the equilibrium, as he sought to exploit the kingdom's advanced technology to ensnare the Source Dragons. Despite Levo's steadfast refusal, Beatrix succumbed to the allure of the proposition, ultimately consenting to become the Empress of Imperium in exchange for her compliance. Through the act of sabotaging Levo's hover chariot, Ras successfully executed the murder of Levo. In addition, Ras orchestrated the banishment of Zeatrix from the Kingdom of Imperium, clearing the path for Beatrix to assume the throne.[1] Since then, the Imperians developed a deep enmity towards dragons, perceiving them as a threat to their realm. As a result, the Claws of Imperium hunt down the dragons and were idolized as heroic protectors of the kingdom.[2] Imperians' hostility toward dragons has resulted in Ana being shunned by everyone, as she defended a dragon named Zanth when she found out that Imperium began to harvest their energy by abusing dragons.[3]
Ras begun his plan to capture the Source Dragons for his master, having already succeeded in capturing the Source Dragon of Energy.[4] Following the Merge, the Kingdom of Imperium found itself adjacent to Ninjago City. Ana, who couldn't stand Imperium's way of life anymore, made the decision to leave and seek refuge among other displaced individuals at the Crossroads.[5] Meanwhile, a portion of the realm of Imperium merged with the Cloud Kingdom, which prompted the Ice Dragons to relocate there for a more secure habitat.[1][6] Additionally, Zane became trapped in a stasis pod located in the Monastery of Imperium, a temple that was linked to a specific building housing a portal gate.[7] As for Cole, he became stranded in the Land of Lost Things, a valley located within Imperium for lost or forgotten people and objects.[8]
Dragons Rising, Season 1[]
Beatrix had devised a plan to hunt every last dragon from existence, using the Photacs. Determined to put an end to this threat once and for all, a group consisting of Lloyd, Arin, Sora, and Riyu embarked on a mission to infiltrate the City of Imperium. However, they were separated amidst the chaos caused by the Imperium Guards.[3] Sora, unfortunately, fell into the clutches of Dr. LaRow and Ras, who coerced her into activating the remaining Photacs in order to spare Zanth's life. Meanwhile, Lloyd and Wyldfyre took it upon themselves to liberate the captive dragons, but their efforts were met with opposition from the Claws of Imperium and the Photacs.[9] The situation seemed dire until Kai, Nya, and Zane came. As the battle raged on, Arin and Sora made their way into the Imperium Palace, ready to rescue Riyu and confront Ras. Lloyd, who harnessed the immense power of the Source Dragon energy, activated the portal gate, allowing the ninja and the dragons to make their escape from the City of Imperium.[10] After the battle, Beatrix ordered the Monastery of Imperium to be demolished, leading to the majority of its remnants being transported to the Land of Lost Things.[11]
The Kingdom of Imperium was in a dire situation as the dragons had escaped and the Source Dragon's energy was proving to be difficult to extract by the scientists. This led to an energy crisis that threatened the stability of the entire kingdom. However, despite the gravity of the situation, Beatrix was unfazed by it at all. Instead, she wanted to utilize the Dragon Cores for a powerful weapon to seek revenge on the ninja.[12] Beatrix's claims raised suspicions among the Imperium Teen Protection Force. They were not convinced by her intentions and were determined to uncover the truth. This prompted Percival and his team to form a resistance against Beatrix and her nefarious plans.[11]
Meanwhile, the ninja embarked on a quest to retrieve the Dragon Cores. During their journey, Nya and Sora stumbled upon the Land of Lost Things, where they encountered Cole and the Finders.[8] Dorama and Dr. LaRow managed to acquire two out of the three Dragon Cores.[13] This posed a significant challenge for the ninja, as they now had to return to the City of Imperium in order to retrieve the stolen cores. The clash between the ninja and Beatrix, along with the Claw Hunters, resulted in a fierce conflict. Fortunately, the Resistance managed to uncover Beatrix's deceitful actions and expose her lies to the entire kingdom. This revelation had a profound impact on the Imperians, who had been deceived by Beatrix for far too long.[11] With her disappearance after being pulled into a MergeQuake rift, the kingdom finally had a chance to move forward. The Imperians embraced the opportunity to establish a new system of governance and decided to adopt a democratic approach. The City of Imperium began discussions about forming a council to ensure fair representation and decision-making for its citizens like the ninja.[4]
Dragons Rising, Season 2[]
Percival spoke to a gathering of Imperians, discussing the opportunity to enhance the City of Imperium in Beatrix's absence by creating public gardens and sustainable power sources. He also proposes opening the city to individuals from realms beyond Imperium. Unexpectedly, Euphrasia crash-landed in Imperium's desert and sought assistance from Percival after fracturing her leg.[14]
Jordana's knowledge of Theroxian magic enabled her to locate Bonzle in the Land of Lost Things. After Jordana lifted the spell that prevented the inhabitants from leaving, Ras ordered the Wolf Mask Warriors to capture Bonzle, who was having breakfast with the other Finders. A battle erupted between the Finders and the Wolf Mask Warriors, with the latter initially gaining the advantage. However, Cole returned from his quest just in time and reunited with the Finders, seeking refuge. Despite the Wolf Mask Claw Warriors managing to break through the earth dome, Cole and the Finders successfully reconstructed the portal gate from the Monastery of Imperium and made their way to Ninjago.[15]
