Official description[]
Masters of Spinjitzu: a new force to save the world!
Will Kai be the greatest warrior ever known? Maybe, if he ever listens to Sensei Wu long enough to complete his training! He's stubborn, he's reckless, and he might just save the world.[1]
Blurb[]
Sensei Wu has gathered a powerful team of ninja warriors. Now he must train them in the ancient art of Spinjitzu. If he fails, Lord Garmadon and his evil skeleton warriors will destroy the land of Ninjago and all of its inhabitants.
But before Sensei Wu can teach the ninja to defeat their enemies, he must teach them to trust themselves. When Kai helps Zane, the Ninja of Ice, go in search of answers to the past, he finds something else . . . danger!
Plot[]
Intro[]
Kai's attempt to battle a dummy ends in failure, leaving him disheartened. Wu, seizing the opportunity, taunts Kai for his lack of skill. This only deepens Kai's discouragement. However, Wu decides to share a secret with Kai, revealing the truth about his father, Ray. Wu explains that Ray was once just like Kai, a talented fighter and a renowned hero. However, Ray made the difficult choice to give up his heroic life for the sake of his family - Maya, Kai, and Nya. Hearing this story ignites a fire within Kai, pushing him to push past his doubts and strive harder than ever before.
Main Story[]
Kai is chopping firewood and feeling frustrated that the ninja are solely focused on obtaining the Golden Weapons instead of rescuing Nya. Zane approaches Kai and admits that he admires Kai's strong connection to his family. Together, they journey to a nearby village in search of answers. Unfortunately, Kruncha overhears their conversation and informs Samukai, who believes that the ninja must be after something valuable. Samukai orders the Skulkin to distract the ninja while they search for the supposed treasure. Upon arriving at the village, Kai and Zane discover that all the villagers have vanished. They eventually locate and save the people, engaging in a battle with the skeletons before returning to their fellow ninja.
Trivia[]
- The Intro is most likely set while Kai is struggling with the training course, as there is no reference to Zane, Jay, Cole or any of the Golden Weapons being retrieved already.
- The main story is set after the Caves of Despair, as Kai knows Spinjitzu, and before Zane: Ninja of Ice (which is before the Floating Ruins), as Zane: Ninja of Ice references Kai: Ninja of Fire.
- This book can be considered canon unless the series contradicts it at some point.[2]
- This book can be found on Apple Books.
