Lava-Tides are a species of Tide-Folk native to the Lava Wastes.
History[]
Background[]
Following the successful utilization of the Dragon Cores to halt the Coalescence, the First Spinjitzu Master entrusted one of the cores to the guardianship of the Lava-Tides. Their noble duty was to safeguard it from malevolent forces seeking to exploit the dragon power of the Dragon Cores for nefarious purposes. Many centuries later, the Lava-Tides found themselves confronted by Wyldfyre, who engaged in a series of pranks that disrupted their tranquil abode. Regrettably, Wyldfyre's actions escalated to the point where she defaced a statue honoring Lava-Todd the Wise, a revered figure and hero among his people.
Following the Merge, some of the Lava-Tides chose to become citizens in the Crossroads.
Dragons Rising, Season 1[]
Wyldly Inappropriate[]
Needing the Dragon Core to prevent the MergeQuakes, Kai and Wyldfyre approached the Lava-Tides, who refused to hand the core to them, due to the latter's massive amount of pranks. In an attempt to prove their worthiness, the leader made them clean up Wyldfyre's mess. However, after cleaning the village up, the leader "pranks" them by throwing the core into a bottomless pit.
They Call It Doom[]
The Lava-Tides seize the core from Dorama, leading to him and his stagehands to furiously pursue them. Kai eventually cornered the leader, who intentionally led him to the space between the walls so that she could trick him into saying "What" and launch flaming boulders. The Lava-Tides then continued trying to keep the core away from Kai, Wyldfyre, Dorama, and his stagehands before Wyldfyre ambushed the leader herself to shoot at her, only for the leader to swallow them and grow giant, which the latter claimed to have been all part of the plan before resuming her stampede, only for Heatwave to arrive and take her down, but the leader managed to graze him before Kai and Wyldfyre escaped on him with the core, unaware that at some point during the chase, Dorama had swapped it with a fake.
The Elemental Mechs[]
A Pain in the Mech! (flashback)[]
Lava-Tony asked his sous-chefs to drag the egg crate to the stove, but the Crossroads was shortly attacked by a pair of ice dragons. Lava-Tony shouted that the dragons were after him for no reason and ordered his sous-chefs to defend his honor. The sous-chefs began to fire fireballs at the dragons, but were stopped by the Ninja. After Lava-Tony ordered his sous-chefs to protect the crate, before quickly correcting himself to say, "I mean, protect me," Arin became suspicious of the chef and investigated his crate, discovering ice dragon eggs inside, When Arin pressured him to confess the truth, Lava-Tony attempted to flee but was rammed from behind by Riyu, knocking him into his stove, which exploded and covered the ninja with noodles.
Dragons Rising, Season 2[]
To Mysterium[]
A Lava-Tide with a top hat bumps past Cole while he, Zane, and Bonzle are in the Crossroads to find a map of the Merged Realms. Cole greets the Lava-Tide, only for it to open its mouth before continuing walking away.
The Forest of Spirits[]
Four Lava-Tides were in a set of doors dancing to a disco toaster.
Enter the City of Temples[]
A trio of Lava-Tides entered Kreel and Lobbo's Junkyard, seeking to steal one of the racing mechs. After being confronted by Wyldfyre, the trio initially began to flee but shortly decided to attack after realizing Wyldfyre's lack of experience. However, Nya's timely intervention caused the trio to retreat, realizing that they were now outmatched against a "real ninja."
Abilities[]
- Fire Absorption - Lava-Tides can absorb fire, while removing it from the source, into their body and use it in various ways, gaining some form of advantage, either by enhancing themselves, gaining the drained power, using it as power source etc., either temporarily or permanently.
- Size Enhancement - Through the absorption of Heat,[1] Lava-Tides possess the power to expand their size significantly, becoming colossal entities. Additionally, they bestow upon their target the ability to enhance their physical capabilities, granting them superhuman strength of extraordinary proportions.
- Object Propulsion - To propel objects at high speed in a fashion similar to a rocket launch off. Lava-Tides produce an aura around the object, which causes ions to form around the object and propel it.
- Lava Ball Projection - Lava-Tides can create spheres of compressed molten rock, and increase the ball of magma in size, intensity of heat, and power capable of incinerating their opponents and decimating large structures.
