The Maaray Soldiers are a group of rebellious Merlopians led by Gripe. They aim to seize control of Merlopia after Benthomaar became king.

Background[]
Some time after the Great Flood Gripe gathered some rebel Maaray Guards still loyal to Kalmaar to dethrone Benthomaar and take back Merlopia.
Back to Merlopia![]
Taking advantage of Benthomaar's absence, the Maaray Soldiers begin an attack on Merlopia. Glutinous goes to the ninja at the Monastery of Spinjitzu and they all go to Merlopia on the Hydro Bounty.
At sea, the Maaray Soldiers attack the ninja but are distracted by Lloyd. Inside the Merlopian Palace, more Maaray Soldiers attack the ninja, but the Maaray soldiers enter the throne room and close it to prevent the ninja from passing. However, Kai's impulses allow the ninja to enter the throne room and defeat the Maaray Soldiers and Gripe.
Great Droids Think Alike[]
While Zane tests his newly built Power Up Mech, Gripe and three Maaray Soldiers piloting a submarine spy on the ninja in order to steal the mech and replicate it. Eventually, the Maaray Soldiers attack and cause Zane to knock himself out, stealing his body for information about the mech.
Later, the Maaray Soldiers were pursued by Zane and P.I.X.A.L. but manage to escape in their submarine. Their escape doesn't last long, as Power Up Mech's upgrades allowed Zane to cut off the submarine's dome and retrieve his body, causing the Maaray Soldiers to flee along the coast.
