Massive Critters! is the 101st issue of the Ninjago Magazine. It includes 892305 Aspheera and Fugitive Lloyd appears on the cover. It was released on the 18 of April 2023 in Germany.
Pyramid Payback[]
Misako and Cole return to the Spinjitzu Monastery after their tea shopping trip. They see Clutch Powers climbing the mountain to the monastery. Clutch mentions that he and the Explorer's Club are searching for a mysterious artifact that Quanish once mentioned. Clutch also mentions that their search has led them to the Pyramid of Mambo V. Clutch calls the artifact they are looking for a "time item", which supposedly disappears into another time and dimension when touched and leaves mysterious clues. Clutch Powers says that during the search, the remaining members of the Explorer's Club fell into the abyss during the earth collapse, and only Clutch managed to escape and he asks the Ninja for help. The ninja decide to help Powers, Zane mentions that since it's about Quanish, maybe they can find another piece of chronosteel that will help them regain their elemental powers. The ninja go to the Kryptarium prison to ask Apheera to draw a ninja map for the pyramid, in return Aspheera is moved to a cell with the other Serpentines. The ninja reach the pyramid, but it turns out that Aspheera tricked them, her map led to a trapdoor that led them straight to the pit of giant beetles. The ninja start fighting, and Kai drops a protein bar from his bag, which the beetles quickly eat. It turns out that they are hungry and haven't eaten for a long time. Zane sends a signal to P.I.X.A.L, who brings bags of food for the beetles. The ninja give the beetles food and then use them as vehicles. The ninja reach the place where the people from the Explorer's Club disappeared. The ninja find hardened lava from the time they were trapped in the pyramid ("Ninja vs Lava"). Zane says that since there is solidified lava here, there may be chronostal here too. Jay finds a piece of chronosteel. After a successful mission, the Ninja return to the monastery and think that Quanish's theory is true and by obtaining three pieces of chronosteel, they will regain their elemental powers. The ninja wonder why it takes so long for their powers to return, then Master Wu comes and tells the ninja to leave it alone. He says that one or two of Quanish's predictions came true, but there is no evidence to support his theory.
