The Munce are a subterranean tribe of brutish green troll-like[4] creatures led by Queen Murtessa. They are enemies of the Skull Sorcerer and friends with the Geckles and the ninja.
History[]
Background[]
Years ago, the Munce and Geckles were subjected to immense fear at the hands of a dragon known as Grief-Bringer. Faced with this dire situation, the two tribes sought the aid of Lilly. Lilly managed to vanquish the dragon using the Spinjitzu Burst. Following the defeat of the dragon, Lilly bestowed upon Munce the Shadow Blade of Deliverance, while the Geckles were honored with the Ivory Blade of Deliverance. However, their newfound peace was short-lived when Vangelis, disguised the Skull Sorcerer, stole both blades, leading the Munce and Geckles to accuse each other of the theft of their respective blades. The two tribes were coerced into mining Vengestone within the Skull Keep. Amidst this turmoil, Geo was born to the Munce tribe. However, due to him having the coloring of a Geckle and making look him unique, Geo was unwanted and abandoned by both tribes. This led him to leave Shintaro Mountain and eventually find himself in the Land of Lost Things, as his tribe had forgotten about him.
Master of the Mountain[]
After the ninja's arrival to the Kingdom of Shintaro, Cole ends up captured in the Dungeons and forced to mine Vengestone, where he meets with the Munce and Geckles. The other ninja then arrive to rescue Cole, but they end up captured too. The ninja proceeds to free the tribes despite their arguing and fighting. However, while trying to escape the Skull Keep, the ninja end up being separated, with Lloyd, Jay and Nya ending up with the Munce tribe. They are peacefully taken to their queen, Murtessa, who easily falls for Jay, and becomes jealous of Nya, challenging her to a ritual combat. However, when Nya defeats Murtessa, she is unknowingly crowned Queen of the Munce. Later on, the rest of the ninja, save for Cole, are able to reunite the two tribes again before they are attacked by the Skull Sorcerer, the Re-Awakened and the resurrected Grief-Bringer. Close to their impending doom, the Geckles and Munce are able to put aside their conflicts and feuds with each other, and as they prepare to fight, through Lloyd's sacrifice, they are instead sent to work in the mines after being backstabbed by the Skull Sorcerer. However, Cole and the Upply arrive to free the others, and commence in a fierce battle against the Skull Sorcerer's forces. Following his defeat by the hands of Cole by using the Spinjitzu Burst, Vania was crowned Queen of Shintaro, and the Munce lived in peace with the Geckles, Sky Folk, and the Upply.
Crystalized[]
In a prophesied event by Quanish the Elder, the Munce arrived to fight the crystal army alongside the ninja and their many allies. Following the defeat of the Overlord and his forces, they help to rebuild the Monastery of Spinjitzu.
Dragons Rising, Season 1[]
Following the Merge, a portion of the Munce population became citizens in the Crossroads, while others became Administration Agents. However, Geo was bestowed with the Elemental Power of Fusion.
Dragons Rising, Season 2[]
At some point after the Ritual of the Blood Moon, a certain amount of Munce went to the City of Temples to watch the Tournament of the Sources, while Geo and Mord went to participate in it.

Culture[]
The Munce are a tribe of troll-like beings from the Dungeons of Shintaro, finding their home in the Munce Home-Cave. They are led by the Munce Queen, who can be overthrown if defeated in ritual combat. The main section of the cave is guarded by two guards who determine who is and isn't allowed to enter.
Like the Geckles, the Munce were gifted the Shadow Blade of Deliverance by their hero, Milly, who used the Blades of Deliverance to defeat Mief-Bringer, a dragon who hunted both the Geckles and the Munce. After the Shadow Blade of Deliverance was stolen from the Munce by the Skull Sorcerer, the Munce blamed the Geckles, starting a long lasting rivalry between the two tribes. Eventually, the Geckles and the Munce were enslaved in the Mines of Shintaro and forced to work together, mining Vengestone for the Skull Sorcerer who was selling to an unknown buyer. Even after being freed by the ninja, the Munce still held their hatred towards the Geckles until they were allied while hiding in a cave with the Geckles and the ninja.
The Munce, being simpler-minded beings, put the letter M in front of the name of each member of the tribe as well as non-members, such as naming their hero Milly as apposed to Lilly, and calling Grief-Bringer "Mief-Bringer". They enjoy their own food made in the Munce Home-Cave along with glop, which is eaten by the enslaved Munce. They treat the Queen with very high respect, so much so as to carry her on a carriage. Without proper authority, the Munce are very rowdy and aggressive, arguing with each other and fighting the Geckles whenever they were given a chance. Geo, however, is a special case, as being in the color of a Geckle and the Elemental Master of Fusion, he has average intelligence and perfect talking.
Official descriptions[]
Shintaro Secrets Revealed![]
These big green brutes love anything that shines or glistens. When duelling, they roll into their opponents' legs like a bowling ball! They love knocking Geckles over, because they think they stole their Blade of Deliverance.
LEGO Life[]
Sworn enemies of the Geckles, whom they believe to have stolen their Shadow Blade of Deliverance (one of the Two Blades of Deliverance). They're not the sharpest tools in the mines. To keep things simple, all Munce names begin with the letter "M" but (yes, you guessed it) it can cause misunderstandings. Led by Queen Murtessa, they dig for shiny objects like diamonds, gems, and crystals, which they value above all else. The Munce have a very particular fighting style - they roll up into balls and attack their enemies' feet.
