- The comic from the Ninjago: Legacy Magazine issue 10 features a real Comic-con logo.
- When asked about the comics in the magazines, Tommy Andreasen said, "I don’t know those stories, but the intention is definitely that they should work with the TV show canon, add to it and not contradict."[1] When Tommy Kalmar was asked if the comics were canon, he responded, "As rule of thumb, yes, but there may be instances where the Magazine lends itself to other fresh opp[o]rtunities."[2]
- Mother Earth is considered canon[3] despite its major timeline errors.
- Sometimes the Ninjago Magazine incorrectly refer the The Island as the fourteenth season, Seabound as the fifteenth season, Crystalized as the sixteenth season and the first season of Dragons Rising as the seventeenth season of the original show.
- Chris "Doc" Wyatt has jokingly said "If I ever meet the editor we will have a conversation." when asked about the use of the different numbering.[4]
