"Oh, my! Would you look at this mess."
|
These are the relationships of P.I.X.A.L., the current Samurai X.
Family[]
Cyrus Borg[]

Cyrus Borg is P.I.X.A.L.'s creator/father.
P.I.X.A.L. was created by Cyrus Borg to be his assistant and to help him run his company, Borg Industries. Unlike Zane and his creator, Dr. Julien, P.I.X.A.L. and Dr. Borg appear to have a mainly professional relationship, absent of aspects typical of a familial bond. However, as time passes, their undeniable concern for one another is revealed.
In "The Curse of the Golden Master", P.I.X.A.L. confesses her desire to be with Zane to Dr. Borg. In addition, she expresses her reluctance to abandon her creator despite her new feelings by stating her confusion as to who she belongs to (Cyrus Borg for creating her or Zane for saving her). Borg assures P.I.X.A.L. that that he would not interfere with her decision and that she does not belong to anyone, revealing his perception of her as an individual, not simply a creation constructed to serve him.
Later in "Enter the Digiverse", P.I.X.A.L. expresses sorrow when her creator is abducted by Nindroids and undoubtedly considers helping him before he orders her to remain with and protect the Ninja. After the Ninja complete their mission, P.I.X.A.L. gazes at Cyrus’s abandoned wheelchair solemnly, indicating her care for the wellbeing of her creator.
In "The Invitation", Cyrus Borg states that he hasn’t seen or spoken to “...P.I.X.A.L. since Zane’s memorial… (and that) It’s heartbreaking,” to Lloyd and Wu. This brief comment reveals his concern for P.I.X.A.L. and her feelings in the wake of Zane’s sacrifice in Rebooted.
After being installed into Zane's systems during the Tournament of Elements, P.I.X.A.L. most likely remained in contact with Cyrus Borg.
As Samurai X, P.I.X.A.L. was determined to save her creator from the Time Twins and their Vermillion horde. She was successful in her mission and stood by his side, as the ninja defeated their foes. Borg most likely did not know P.I.X.A.L. was his savior at the time.
P.I.X.A.L. was distraught when Borg was found frozen by the Oni, and a statement by Nya referring to Borg as P.I.X.A.L.'s father indicates that the Ninja and (possibly) P.I.X.A.L. see Borg as such.
In Prime Empire, P.I.X.A.L. visited her creator in Borg Industries with the Ninja. Unlike her friends, she clasped her hands behind her back, indicating her respect for her creator and that a part of her may still see him as an authority (instead of a parental) figure.
While it is unclear whether or not P.I.X.A.L. and Dr. Borg see each other as family, they undoubtedly care for one another.
Love Interest[]
Zane[]

P.I.X.A.L. and Zane's photo
Zane first encountered P.I.X.A.L. when he and the other ninja arrived at Cyrus Borg's building and he felt an attraction towards her and she was confused by his functioning. During the conflict with The Overlord, P.I.X.A.L. accompanied and soon broke free from her basic programming to help Zane. Her actions brought time for the ninja, though her power source caused her to shut down, to Zane's sadness. However, she would be given half of Zane's power source to save her and would begin to feel human emotions with both saying the other was vital to them. Indeed, they would often come to the other's aid on many occasions after the Cryptor and the Nindroids attack. Their attraction was noted by a few characters such as Edna, Nya, and Kai, who all expressed happiness at Zane having found someone so special to him. When Zane sacrificed himself, P.I.X.A.L. was the one who took his death notably hard, to the point where she didn't attend his funeral. Because of this, she would be the first person to see him reconstruct himself in a new updated body, and smiled greatly when he revealed his presence to her in the Borg Industries computers by asking if they were now compatible.
In between Seasons 3 and 4, the two were captured by Ronin and brought to Chen, who held them prisoner on his secluded island to draw out the other ninja. In the early stages of the fourth season, Zane in his imprison state was amnesiac, and it was P.I.X.A.L. who guided him back to his memories while telling him she was a friend. The return of his memory is signaled by Zane asking P.I.X.A.L. if they are compatible, which she affirms. When Zane broke out, he was disheartened to learn that P.I.X.A.L. had been dismantled. Despite P.I.X.A.L.'s urging to leave without her, he refused to abandon her, placing her memory card into his system and allowing her to continue the journey with him—audible only as a voice inside his head, and visible in his field of vision as a small image on a screen. It was P.I.X.A.L. who helped Zane in conquering his fears and unlocking his dragon.
P.I.X.A.L. would continue offering aid to Zane in his later fights such as with Morro. During Skybound, when Zane came face to face with Nadakhan, P.I.X.A.L. tried to warn him of the consequence, but he ignored her warning. He came to regret his choice when Nadakhan removed her from his processor, which left him distraught at the thought of living without her and forced him to make his last wish for it to go away. Due to Jay's last wish, Zane was reunited with P.I.X.A.L. and would continue to ask for her input in later adventures.
In Season 7: The Hands of Time, when an attack by the Time Twins put Zane offline, P.I.X.A.L. expresses worry and tries to wake him. When Zane was reactivated by Nya, he was confused by P.I.X.A.L. not responding to him and became sad as he realized he was alone.
He overcame this grief in Season 8: Sons of Garmadon, as she soon returned to him. He was later shocked to see her in her new samurai gear and learn she was the new Samurai X, the vigilante hero. P.I.X.A.L. spoke to Zane where she asked him if he was upset that she was no longer in his head. To her surprise, Zane stated said he likes seeing her with a body again and told P.I.X.A.L. that he was fine with her being Samurai X as it made her happy, which left her touched as they promised to be honest and not to keep secrets from each other.
In "Big Trouble, Little Ninjago," P.I.X.A.L. was under the impression that Zane was dead and was sad at his loss. She was unaware he was transported to another realm.
In "Firstbourne," P.I.X.A.L. is sad about losing her companion and wants to honor his memory by continuing to fight. However, she learns that he was instead teleported to somewhere after she and the others find a piece of a leaf for traveler's tea and were happy Zane was still alive.

P.I.X.A.L and Zane reunited
In "Green Destiny," P.I.X.A.L. hears that Zane and the ninja have returned and breaks out of custody to see him again. She is reunited with him and they hug after peace is restored to Ninjago. After the conflict, they hold hands at the celebration.
After Zane's sacrifice to defeat Aspheera in "Vengeance is Mine!," she was very devastated to lose him again and broke down at his fate.
During "A Cold Goodbye," P.I.X.A.L. has a nightmare of Zane's fate before waking up screaming and looking at a portrait of them together. She spoke with the ninja on the loss, before a frantic Wu came in and told her Zane was still alive. P.I.X.A.L. was surprised but overjoyed to learn that her companion was okay but worried about the dangers of the Never-Realm.
In "The Kaiju Protocol," she tells Wu to inform Zane that she loves him if she fails to defeat The Preeminent, admitting how much she valued Zane.
During "Awakenings," the ninja found Zane and returned home, with her giving him a big hug in their reunion.

P.I.X.A.L. questioning Zane about his peculiar speech and attire
In the following season, P.I.X.A.L. and Zane search for Milton Dyer together in Ninjago City. In "Ninjago Confidential", Zane dresses as and pretends to be a detective, claiming that “this method has to work,”. P.I.X.A.L. expresses her confusion at Zane’s roleplaying, but hesitantly “plays along”.

P.I.X.A.L. moving Zane away from the angered patrons
P.I.X.A.L. protects Zane when a number of the patrons at Laughy’s are insulted by his “detective narration” and he declares happily that P.I.X.A.L. “…had saved (his) nindroid bacon,”.

P.I.X.A.L. voicing her annoyance to Zane
Later, P.I.X.A.L. voices her irritation with Zane’s role-playing. He then speaks to his belief that she secretly loves it. P.I.X.A.L. then asserts that “(Her) heart did not reveal that” and “Every part of (her) is annoyed,” while glaring at him. When they investigate Buddy’s Pizza for Dyer, the Mechanic kidnaps Zane. P.I.X.A.L. becomes worried and saddened by Zane's disappearance. Upon spotting Zane’s abandoned detective hat, P.I.X.A.L. groans before donning it, adopting Zane’s “detective theory” and showing that she appreciates her companion even when his “acting” peeves her.

P.I.X.A.L. wearing Zane's fedora
When P.I.X.A.L. later finds the Mechanic forcing Zane to power his Manifestation Gate, she quickly moves to help him. She battles the Mechanic’s thugs alone before attempting to free Zane from the portal machine. She eventually does so with Jay’s help and expresses her relief when Zane survives the Gate's effects.
P.I.X.A.L. and Zane work together to topple a lamppost onto a Whack Rat’s car and seize it to travel to Borg Industries. Later, when the Ninja are released from Prime Empire, Zane and P.I.X.A.L. link arms and greet their friends.
In “The Call of The Deep”, P.I.X.A.L. and Zane investigate a distress call together. After P.I.X.A.L.’s mech crashes into the ocean, Zane attempts to help her with a grappling hook but fails. They both try to contact each other to no success. When P.I.X.A.L. regains power and safely breaches the surface, Zane expresses his happiness.
In “Unsinkable”, the pair joins Jay, Nya, and Lloyd to investigate a mysterious signal in the Tartarus Trench. Zane henceforth pretends to be a pirate (similar to his detective roleplaying in “Ninjago Confidential'') and P.I.X.A.L. sighs in response.
In “The Fall of the Monastery”, P.I.X.A.L. is reassured when Zane contacts her following the explosion in the abandoned N-Line. Similarly, in “Darkness Within”, Zane anxiously asks Nya if P.I.X.A.L. is alright after learning of the Crystal Council’s attack on the Monastery. When he arrives at Nya’s old Samurai X cave in the same episode, P.I.X.A.L. hugs him and asks if he was injured in the recent events. He replies that he “...is fine,” and holds her hand.
In “Return of the Ice Emperor”, P.I.X.A.L. searches for Zane in the streets of Ninjago City after learning that his jet crashed while battling the Crystal King’s dragonides. She finds him grievously injured and carries him on her back. When they become surrounded by Crystal Warriors, P.I.X.A.L. senses that this may be their last moment together and then tells Zane that she loves him for the first time. For a brief moment, Zane’s cloaking technology glitches and reveals Zane’s real, beaming face, indicating that a part of him understood her message. However, the dismantled Zane dismisses her comment due to his damaged memory banks. While P.I.X.A.L. feels annoyance at his behavior, she recognizes his need for assistance. When they are subsequently rescued by Ronin and his gang, they travel to Borg Tower. When they arrive, P.I.X.A.L. asks her creator to help her repair Zane.
In “Compatible”, P.I.X.A.L. inquires about Zane’s condition and Cyrus Borg compares it to a coma. When P.I.X.A.L. remarks how some “...coma patients are known to recover,” Dr. Borg tells her that since Zane is a nindroid, that may not be the case. P.I.X.A.L. informs him that she understands and asks him to try the best he can to bring Zane online.
Before departing with the others to fight the Crystal Army, P.I.X.A.L. checks once more to see if Zane regained consciousness. After no response, she tells the team that she will say her goodbyes to Zane before leaving Borg Tower with them.
P.I.X.A.L. holds Zane’s hand and voices a heartfelt farewell to him regarding how much he has done for her and means to her. She recalls how Zane gave her half of his heart during the Overlord’s previous invasion and taught her to feel human emotions, including love. She promises to return to him after the battle if she survives. If not, she tells him she will meet him in the afterlife, if such a place exists for nindroids. P.I.X.A.L. gives him a final hug and kiss before turning to leave with the others.
Before P.I.X.A.L. and Ronin’s gang depart, Zane emerges from his coma and asks for P.I.X.A.L. She turns in shock and leaps into his arms, exclaiming her joy at his awakening. When Dr. Borg asks Zane how he arose from his coma, Zane replies that P.I.X.A.L.’s voice helped him remember and tells her that she “...brought him back,”.
Their reunion brings a smile to Dr. Borg's and Ronin’s faces and moves Killow and Fugi-Dove to tears. P.I.X.A.L. and Zane subsequently travel to the Paperkids’ Warehouse with Ronin’s gang to defend it from the Crystal Army.
In “Dragon Form”, When Mister F chases P.I.X.A.L. on his dragonide, Zane intervenes and battles him, resulting in Mister F’s defeat. Later, Zane and P.I.X.A.L. embrace after defeating more members of the Crystal Army.
In “Roots”, P.I.X.A.L. and Zane rebuild the Monastery with the others and are last seen carrying a bathtub together.
After The Merge, P.I.X.A.L. was among the ones that were missing, leaving Zane saddened when he came back in the team. He tried to find her by trying to operate the Portal gate and taped a photo of her to a broom and would talk to it as if she were around.
Friends[]
Ninja[]

P.I.X.A.L. celebrating with the ninja and friends.
The ninja were accepting of her and supported Zane's affections to her in Season 3.
During Season 4, they were amazed that P.I.X.A.L. is now integrated into Zane's system and helped them with strategies. Since she was installed in Zane's system, P.I.X.A.L. started working with the ninja, even though she could not fight with them.
In "Dead Man's Squall," P.I.X.A.L. revealed her status as Samurai X as they were surprised at this. While being controlled, she fought the ninja, winning the battle and destroying one of the Bounty's engines. After regaining control, P.I.X.A.L. officially joined the team as Samurai X and promised to devote herself to the work of protecting Ninjago alongside them.
In "Big Trouble, Little Ninjago," P.I.X.A.L. was under the impression that her friends were dead and were sad at their loss. She was unaware they were transported to another realm.
In "Firstbourne," P.I.X.A.L. continues to help Lloyd and the others but is sad about losing her other friends. However, she learns that they were instead teleported to somewhere after she and the other find a piece of a leaf for traveler's tea.
During "The Gilded Path," P.I.X.A.L. continued fighting by the remaining ninja's side when they were attacked by Garmadon. When Garmadon was attempting to crush Lloyd's group, she intervened on her friends' behalf. Her interference had allowed Lloyd's group to escape the enemy, even though she was captured by their enemies.
In "Green Destiny," while imprisoned P.I.X.A.L. hears that the rest of the ninja returned and was happy to hear this before she breaks out of custody to see them again. She offers them aid in taking down the Colossus and celebrates peace being restored to the city with her friends.
In "A Cold Goodbye," after she wakes up from a nightmare about Zane’s supposed death they comfort her about their loss until Wu comes in and reveals that Zane is alive. She later helps them in detaining their master and traveling to the Never-Realm but concerned after she hears the danger of the area.
During "Awakenings," she was elated with them returning home with Zane.
After Nya was merged with the Endless Sea, she was a guest at Nya's memorial, mourning at the loss of her friend.
When The Merge happened the ninja and P.I.X.A.L. were lost in the Merged Realms. At the time of "The Temple of the Dragon Cores" the team was reconstituted but Jay, Cole, Master Wu and P.I.X.A.L. were still missing so the present ninja wanted to find them.
Wu[]

P.I.X.A.L. and Wu
She and the old master get along and show themselves to be friends.
They first meet in Season 3 and faintly acquainted after that.
In Season 8, she is informed of the ninja that Wu has become an infant and agreed with Zane's theory of him returning to his proper age.
During "A Cold Goodbye," P.I.X.A.L. learns from frantic Wu that Zane was still alive. P.I.X.A.L. was surprised but overjoyed to learn that her companion was okay but worried about the dangers of the Never-Realm. When Wu forbade the ninja from trying to go there, she helped the ninja in stealing the Scrolls of Forbidden Spinjitzu from him after tying him up.
During "The Kaiju Protocol," she and Wu try to open a portal to the Never-Realm to retrieve the ninja. However, their actions end up releasing the Preeminent, which proceeds to attack the city. While P.I.X.A.L. goes to stop the creature, Wu stays behind to open a portal to the Departed Realm. When she is overwhelmed by the beast she was also using drastic measures, as Wu tries to warn her of the danger of what could happen but after she defeats the creature he is relieved. The pair then proceed to regain hope of rescuing the ninja.
During "Awakenings," she alerts him of a portal opening and they watch as the ninja return home.
MiniPix[]

P.I.X.A.L. repairing Jay's Bike with the MiniPix
The MiniPix are P.I.X.A.L.'s creations/assistants.
P.I.X.A.L. created the MiniPix (along with MiniPix Seven) to assist her in building vehicles and the Hangar Bay for the Ninja (between March of the Oni and Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu). They appear to get along very well and spend a significant amount of time working together when the Ninja leave on their missions (to the Never Realm, Prime Empire [though perhaps not as much in this instance since she worked with Zane and Master Wu to track down Milton Dyer], Shintaro Mountain, and the Island of the Keepers).
When the Crystal Council attacked in "The Fall of the Monastery", P.I.X.A.L. called on the MiniPix to help and they readily began to fire upon the Council using the lasers P.I.X.A.L. equipped them with. The MiniPix were willing to risk themselves for their creator and her friends, showcasing their loyalty.
MiniPix Seven[]

P.I.X.A.L. with MiniPix Seven
MiniPix Seven is one of P.I.X.A.L.'s creations/assistants.
P.I.X.A.L. designed and built the MiniPix (including MiniPix Seven) to assist her in building vehicles and weapons for the Ninja. After the Crystal Council attacked the Monastery and knocked P.I.X.A.L., Wu, Nya, and Skylor unconscious, MiniPix Seven briefly paused to repair herself before dragging Wu, Skylor, and their creator to the elevator and outside the Monastery, delivering them safely out of the Crystal Spiders' bombs blast radius. However, due to the amount of debris covering Nya, MiniPix Seven failed to locate her.

A damaged MiniPix Seven waiting with P.I.X.A.L. outside the Monastery
At some point between “The Fall of the Monastery” and “Darkness Within”, P.I.X.A.L., MiniPix Seven, Master Wu, and Skylor travel to Nya’s old Samurai X Cave. P.I.X.A.L. decides to give MiniPix Seven their name in honor of their effort in saving her, Master Wu, and Skylor from the Monastery. They then work with Master Wu to restart the old Samurai X Cave’s computers. When the Ninja return from their incident in the abandoned N-line, P.I.X.A.L. proudly introduces them to MiniPix Seven.
In “A Lesson in Anger”, P.I.X.A.L. and MiniPix Seven upgrade the Ninja’s vehicles, “coating them in a nano-tech-polymer” which allows them to draw power from Crystal Temple (instead of being weakened by it) and activate a special power boost.
In “Compatible”, P.I.X.A.L. contacts MiniPix Seven from her communicator and asks them to bring the Ninja Ultra Combo Mech to the battlefield and they readily agree.
In “Dragon Form”, MiniPix Seven successfully delivers the mech to P.I.X.A.L. and she both exclaim their happiness in reuniting with one another.
Milton Dyer[]

Detective P.I.X.A.L. meeting Dyer on the rooftop of Buddy's Pizza
Milton Dyer is P.I.X.A.L.'s ally during the events of Prime Empire (more specifically from "Ninjago Confidential" onward).
P.I.X.A.L. first encounters Dyer on the roof of Buddy’s Pizza while she was masquerading as a detective in order to find him. Soon after, they both realize that Dyer’s creation (the Artificial Intelligence running Prime Empire) was in fact the “villain” Unagami who sought to trap people in the game and escape into the real world of Ninjago.
Soon after, P.I.X.A.L. shows Dyer the Prime Empire console in Buddy’s Pizza to the latter’s shock and he recounts the story of how Scott got trapped in Prime Empire. Dyer soon remarks that he thought Unagami was only a harmless program and that he couldn’t have known Unagami was alive because machines don’t experience real emotions, only simulations of them. To this, P.I.X.A.L. angrily replies that emotions of “sufficiently advanced programs” are no less real than those of humans.
Soon, Master Wu sends P.I.X.A.L. a panic signal from his communicator and she rushes to help him. Before she departs, Milton Dyer asks if she should call the police, as the situation sounds dangerous. However, P.I.X.A.L. replies, “My friends are in danger. There’s no time!” Before following her, Dyer appears perplexed that P.I.X.A.L., being an android, can conceive of and form friendships with others.
At the Mechanic's warehouse, Dyer is soon astounded by P.I.X.A.L.’s expressions of concern for the captured Zane and Wu and remarks how she must be programmed incredibly well to simulate feelings so accurately. To this, P.I.X.A.L. replies: “Why can you not understand? Any sufficiently advanced program like Unagami, like myself, is no less real than you.”
When the Mechanic begins to torture Zane, P.I.X.A.L. leaps down from the rafters to rescue him, despite being outnumbered by the Mechanic’s thugs and Dyer’s awe at this prompts him to call her “Incredible.”
Later, Dyer assists P.I.X.A.L. by uniting Master Wu during her battle with the Mechanic’s thugs.
Because of P.I.X.A.L., Dyer was able to accept that advanced technological beings are in fact sentient and have the realizations that motivated him to apologize to and connect with Unagami.
Enemies[]
Cryptor[]

P.I.X.A.L. attacked by Cryptor.
Because of his allegiance to the Overlord, she saw him as an enemy, especially from his attacks on Zane.
As she sided with the ninja, they were enemies throughout the conflict with The Overlord.
Nindroids[]
Ronin (formerly)[]
P.I.X.A.L. and Ronin first interacted between the events of “The Titanium Ninja” and “The Invitation”. Ronin was ordered to kidnap Zane for Chen and discovered P.I.X.A.L. with the newly-built nindroid in Borg Industries. Ronin abducted them but felt slightly guilty for doing so. However, the threat of Chen and Clouse hurting his family motivated him enough to complete the task, despite his unease (Source: Way of the Departed, Chapter 22).
Ronin’s actions led to P.I.X.A.L. being scrapped by Chen, Zane’s imprisonment and loss of his elemental powers, and the Ninja’s engagement in the Tournament of Elements. While it is unclear how P.I.X.A.L. felt about Ronin specifically, she was adamant about how she wanted Zane to stop Chen (Ronin’s “boss”). In addition, she felt deeply saddened about being dismantled and unable to join Zane and the other Ninja in leaving Chen’s Island (She later overcame those feelings almost entirely when Zane’s actions allowed her to travel with him and leave the island as a part of his circuitry).
In "Public Enemy Number One", while P.I.X.A.L. was guiding Zane as an AI program in his processor, Ronin hacked into Zane remotely to capture him for the Police Commissioner. In doing so, the bounty hunter disabled both him and P.I.X.A.L., preventing Zane from fighting back and P.I.X.A.L. from protecting her companion electronically, marking the second instance Ronin deliberately attacked P.I.X.A.L.
P.I.X.A.L. and Ronin appear not to interact face-to-face again until many years later when the Crystal King, his Council, and his Army overran Ninjago. When P.I.X.A.L. and a damaged Zane were surrounded by Crystal Warriors, Ronin rammed a hijacked prison bus into them, saving her and Zane. Ronin then told her how he inspired the inmates to rise up against the Crystal Army. P.I.X.A.L. was shocked at Ronin’s change of heart but soon grew to see him as an ally and even created a battle mech for him with her creator’s help.
Ronin in the mech P.I.X.A.L. & Borg built for him
Ronin beamed when P.I.X.A.L. was reunited with a (now functioning) Zane in “Compatible” and clasped Cyrus Borg’s shoulder in happiness.
Chen and his Anacondrai Cultists[]
Chen and Clouse employed Ronin to capture Zane and he ended up abducting P.I.X.A.L. as well. When the two nindroids arrived on Chen's Island, Chen had P.I.X.A.L. dismantled and locked her and Zane in adjacent cells.
As revealed in “Versus”, P.I.X.A.L. felt deeply saddened about being scrapped (though she later overcame those feelings) and adamantly declared (to Zane) that the actions of Chen and his Anacondrai Cultists must be prevented by him and the Ninja. One could infer that P.I.X.A.L. held anger for Chen and the Anacondrai cultists due to their malicious treatment of her, holding Zane hostage, using Zane to bait her Ninja friends to participate in the Tournament of Elements, plotting and almost succeeding to initiate a massive war, and harm her friends by stealing their elemental powers.
Sons of Garmadon[]
As Samurai X, P.I.X.A.L. would often face them and stop them from picking on others. Unbeknownst to her, Harumi was their leader the Quiet One, and took control of P.I.X.A.L. to make her attack the ninja. She was freed from the control and help the ninja face them.
When Garmadon was resurrected, P.I.X.A.L. joined the resistance to battle them for control of the city. However, she was captured and placed in Kryptarium Prison but broke out after hearing the ninja returned.
