Prismatic Steel is a metal composed of soul energy and Prismatic Ore, resembling crystal in appearance.
History[]
Years ago, the City of Temples was built over a deposit of raw Prismatic Ore. After the Battle of the City of Temples, the Prismatic Ore, along with soul energy, was used to create the Prismatic Steel chains that imprisoned Thunderfang.[1]
Dragons Rising, Season 2[]
Lloyd had visions of Zeatrix attacking him with a Yellow Prismatic Blade. The vision came true during the Tournament of the Sources where it left Lloyd in a coma.
Dragons Rising, Season 3[]
Making a deal with Thunderfang, the Forbidden Five agreed to find the five Prismatic Blades in exchange Thunderfang will grant them more power. Nokt and Rox manage to recover the Red and Green Prismatic Blade with Kur bringing Rox the Yellow Prismatic Blade and forced Arrakore to rebuild the blade, despite the Djinn knowing its dangers. Although Zarkt failed to secure the Blue Prismatic Blade, which was in the Ninja's possession they got from Dorama's puppet. Because Nya read from The Sagas of the Eternal Sources, which detailed the use of Prismatic Steel and the blades, she informed Sora, who shared the information with the group, explaining the significance of the blue blade and revealing that it was one of the last remaining Prismatic Blades the Forbidden Five needed. Meanwhile at the border of the First Land, Ras, gave Arin the Returning Blade to explore the Spectral Lands to find the healing elixir from the Well of the Lost. Arin encountered Morro, who told him the blade was made of Prismatic Steel, allowing him to see the Soul-Suckers before helping him find the elixir and getting him out of the Spectral Lands.
Zane and P.I.X.A.L. installed a tracker on the Blue Prismatic Blade to find the last Prismatic Blade, which lead them to the World Forest where Ras and Arin had it due to Ras taking it as a battle trophy in the past. Although Drix arrived and secured the two blades and headed to the First Land, where, after a brief and unexpected battle, the Five succeeded in freeing Thunderfang who immediately betrayed them. As Thunderfang broke out of his prison, the Returning Blade, returned to Arin, who used the healing elixir to defeat him. As the healing elixir effected Thunderfang and destroyed his body, Arin used his blade to see the souls Thunderfang absorbed.
After Thunderfang's defeat, four of the five Prismatic Blades were lost, causing them to resurface in the Land of Lost Things, because they went missing after their battle with Thunderfang and no one noticed them.
Meanwhile, the Returning Blade broke during an encounter with Spectral Dragonians in Mysterium, with its broken end being turned into a lantern by Sora and Gandalaria.
During this time, Cole, Kai, and Frak took three of the four blades to Imperium where the Advanced Systems Lab sought to develop a new variant of the Prismatic Blades called the Reveal Blades, designed to destroy Spectral Dragonians. However, due to a shortage of Prismatic Steel, they ended up being enhancements of two of the original Prismatic Blades instead.
Notable uses[]
- Chains in Thunderfang's prison
- Prismatic Blades
- Percival's goggles
Abilities[]
- Spectral Perception – Prismatic Steel allows the user to perceive hidden spiritual energy, such as Soul Suckers or Spectral Dragonians, across the Merged Realms.
- Conditional Indestructibility – Objects made of Prismatic Steel can only be destroyed by another item forged from the same material, making them nearly impossible to break by normal means. However, it can also break when slammed hard enough against Spectral Dragonians.
