"You four have merely scratched the surface of your full potential."
|
These are the relationships of Rapton, the leader of the Freebooters and Ras' former second-in-command.
Allies[]
Claw Hunters[]
Rapton often worked with the Claw Hunters when they hunted dragons.
After Beatrix was overthrown, Rapton and all the Claw Hunters grew tired of peace and rebranded the Claws of Imperium as the Freebooters, although the Claw Hunters dislike the name.
Beatrix (formerly)[]
- “Look, the Empress has gone off the rails. She's so obsessed with destroying ninja, she doesn't think about anything else! She's built this MergeQuake weapon, and she's too far gone to realize she'll destroy the whole world trying to get revenge.”
- “What's that got to do with you?”
- “When I didn't get the Dragon Core she sent me for, I had a real moment of clarity. Why was I helping her end the world? Rapton needs the world. Rapton likes living in it.”

Beatrix and Rapton
Before failing to get the Dragon Core to Beatrix, Rapton obediently followed Beatrix's instructions. However, after failing to get the Dragon Core for the empress, Rapton betrayed her and joined the Resistance, gave the fake Dragon Core to the empress and helped the ninja and the Resistance defeat Beatrix and liberate Imperium from Beatrix's tyrannical rule.
Dorama (formerly)[]
Dr. LaRow[]
Ras (formerly)[]

Ras served as one of Rapton's former superiors, sharing this role with Beatrix. Nevertheless, Rapton's skills and overall performance did not meet Ras' standards, leading Ras to view him as inadequate. This perception resulted in Ras belittling Rapton, whom he regarded as foolish. When Ras was unable to prevent the ninja from liberating the dragons from the Kingdom of Imperium, Rapton took the initiative to aid Beatrix in subduing Ras, with Rapton using an Imperium Sword to electrocute Ras and subsequently confiscated his hammer.

Ninja (temporary allies)[]
- “Fine, truce. But it's only temporary”
- “Absolutely. I hate you all too.”

Rapton held a deep grudge against the ninja for freeing the captive dragons, which he and the Imperium used to view as an insult to their kingdom. When the Mucoids planned to kill Rapton after he made a daring attempt to steal the Dragon Core, Rapton desperately sought the help of Lloyd and Arin. While Arin initially hesitated, questioning the value of Rapton's life in the grand scheme of things, Lloyd made a bold decision to intervene on his behalf. Determined to secure Rapton's freedom, Lloyd crossed Impossible Path. Miraculously, Rapton was granted a pardon, but to the ninja's astonishment, he betrayed his saviors by launching a surprise attack in a desperate bid to reclaim the Dragon Core once more, leaving the ninja duo stunned.
Rapton agreeing to work with the Ninja.
However, when Rapton's attempt to secure the pink Dragon Core failed, he aligned with the Resistance to prevent the Merged Realms from being destroyed as a result of Beatrix's vendetta against the ninja. He also helped in their plan to overthrow Beatrix and save the Kingdom of Imperium from her tyrannical rule, which meant he had to assist the ninja as well. Despite his change of heart, Sora made it clear that his truce with the ninja would only be temporary, given their mutual disdain for Rapton. Rapton, acknowledging the ninja's feelings towards him, agreed to the terms, as his hatred toward them remained unwavering.

After the MergeQuake Storm, the ninja thought Rapton had joined the good side since Imperium stopped hunting dragons. However, Rapton's new life in the Kingdom of Imperium failed, leading him to rename the Claws of Imperium to the Freebooters, focusing on hunting dragons for profit. When he attacked the ninja to capture Eridany, Lloyd blamed Rapton for the Matriarch's death, but Rapton denied responsibility, still intent on seizing Eridany until the Mountain Dragons showed up. Lloyd believed he was lying but Rapton stood his ground as one of the Freeboosters knocked Lloyd out.
Mucoids[]
Rapton made an audacious attempt to snatch the coveted pink Dragon Core. However, his plan was foiled when the vigilant Mucoids apprehended him, intending to execute him for his audacious theft. Rapton pleaded desperately with Lloyd and Arin, hoping they would come to his aid. The ninja duo, however, dismissed his distress as an overreaction. It was only when Zant-Tanz, the acting general of the Mucoids, confessed that Rapton's fears were justified, acknowledging their intentions to end his life. Being branded as a thief, the Mucoids devised a cruel fate for Rapton, deciding to cast him into the doom mucus, a surefire way to ensure his demise.
Lloyd traversed the Impossible Path to save Rapton, who was then spared by Zant-Tanz in accordance with the ancient Mucoids law. However, Rapton surprised everyone by attacking the Mucoids with his Imperium Sword as a gesture of gratitude, allowing him to escape with the core. Despite the chaos, Zant-Tanz tried to make sense of Rapton's behavior by attributing it to cultural differences between Imperians and Mucoids.
