Rebel Ninja is the 40th issue of the Ninjago Magazine. It includes 891840 Jet Jack. The comic included is titled Ninja Chasers. It released on the 8th of August 2018.
Ninja Chasers[]
We start with the intro to a new show on Garmadon TV and with Ultra Violet explaining the rule to "Ultra Hunt". Each week, a troublemaker is chosen at random and then hunted across Ninjago City until they are caught by the Sons of Garmadon. In the first episode, Rufus McCallister, the comicbook shop owner, is chosen as this week’s Hunted. Meanwhile, the man in question is sitting comfortably in front of the TV, but when he realizes that he is now the most wanted man in Ninjago City, he quickly flees his apartment with a group of bikers hot on his heels. Ultra Violet, meanwhile, encourages her viewers to rat out Rufus’ location for a chance to win a day out of town.
In the Ninja's hideout, Lloyd watches the hunt and decides that they must rescue Rufus to send a signal of resistance to Garmadon's rule and give courage to the citizens of Ninjago. Lloyd convinces the rest of the Elemental Masters to help him, and Nya comments that Lloyd has finally regained his confidence and talks like a real leader. Discussing the plan Lloyd stresses that, under no circumstances, they can lead the bikers back to their hideout.
As the team sneaks through town, they overhear a woman revealing to Ultra Violet that Rufus was seen down by the canal. They set off immediately and meet a couple of bikers who are after the comicbook shop owner. The Elemental Masters manage to take the crooks by surprise. However, when Neuro tries to read their minds to gain an advantage in battle, he finds that the villains don't have much going on in their skulls. Despite this, our heroes manage to defeat the bikers and make their way back to the hideout with Rufus. Before doing so, however, they make sure no one can follow them by turning invisible thanks to Mr. Pales help.
Meanwhile, Ultra Violet has lost her last nerve in the TV studio now that her victim for the week has escaped. She instead looks for a new candidate and sicks the hunters on one of her own crew so the show can go on. Meanwhile, in the hideout, Rufus asks what the team is planning to do now, and Lloyd enthusiastically replies that they want to protect the innocent Citizens from Garmadon and are forming the Resistance to save Ninjago.
