| Returning Blade | Prismatic Lamp |
The Returning Blade is one of the five Prismatic Blades. It was in Lord Ras possesion for years until he lends it to Arin who finally kept it. The tip of the blade was broken when Arin fought a Spectral Dragonian leaving the blade still usable. Although Sora used the broken piece to create a Prismatic Lamp.
History[]
Background[]
The Returning Blade was created as one of five Prismatic Blades, each specifically made to break the chains that imprisoned Thunderfang. Among these, the Returning Blade was uniquely intended to slice through the mechanism encircling Thunderfang's neck. Ras would eventually emerge victorious from a battle, and would decide to seize the Returning Blade from his enemy as proof of his triumph, keeping it as a trophy and carrying it with him for years.[1]
The Spectral Lands[]
Ras gave the Returning Blade to Arin before the latter ventured into the Spectral Lands, emphasizing that he would need it there. Within the Spectral Lands, Arin at one point hurled the blade at a nearby window in panic and was surprised when the blade flew back into his hand, leading him to surmise that this property is what led Ras to christen the weapon as the "Returning Blade."
Arin would soon learn also from Morro that since the blade was made from Prismatic Steel, he could see certain creatures that were otherwise invisible to the naked eye. Arin would then use the blade in combat against the Soul Suckers throughout his journey in the Spectral Lands, even using it to seemingly destroy three of the beasts after infusing it with Spinjitzu energy when he preformed Object Spinjitzu.
Their Draconic Majesty's Request[]
When a mysterious bounty hunter attacked him and Ras aboard their Super Storm Jet, Arin infused the returning blade with Spinjitzu energy and hurled it at the bounty hunter, but the mercenary deflected the blade when it clashed with his Lightning Daggers. When Arin recovered the blade, he later continued to carry the blade on his person as he and Ras explored the World Forest, briefly using it once more to cut Ras free from the straps of his parachute.
Crashing Together[]
Using the tracker on the blue Prismatic Blade, Zane discovered the steel was near Arin, which Arin pulls out the Returning blade. Ras confirms that the blade is made of prismatic steel, which he won as a battle trophy. The Ninja told Ras about the Forbidden Five getting the blade, but Ras says he will keep it out of their hands. The Returning Blade was seen on Ras' back along with the Icon of the Source Dragon of Strength. Although when Ras was captured by Rogue, Arin chased after him because Ras put the Returning Blade on his back. When the mercenary attacked Arin, Ras took his hammer but was forced to battle two Dragonian Warriors. After defeating the Dragonians, Drix arrives and in the ensuing battle, Drix gained the advantage; with Ras loosing the Returning Blade after crashing into a tree, and ultimately escaped with both the blue Prismatic Blade and the Returning Blade.
Chaos Unchained[]
Drix had both blade when he went to where Thunderfang was imprisoned. As Drix battles the Ninja he looses the Blue Prismatic Blade and Riyu knock the Returning Blade from him. Drix presents the Returning Blade to Nokt but he shives him aside to get his revenge on Ras. Drix held onto the Returning Blade, dodging Zane's ice blast until and Riyu knocks him down. As the blade flies, Rox attempts to grab it but Arin gets it with his Grapple Gun. Instead of listening to Lloyd and taking the Blue and Returning Blade to the Monestary, Arin used them to fight Nokt but was attacked by Rox who then takes both blades. When Rox alerted them to use the tornado to distract the Ninja and heads into the cave, Drix uses Returning Blade to free Thunderfang, throwing it at the neck chain. When Thunderfang was released, Drix lost possession of the Returning Blade before Thunderfang betrayed him and the Five and sole their souls.
The Shatter Dragon[]
As Thunderfang breaks out of his prison, the Returning Blade lands on the ground. The Returning Blade was caught in the winds until Arin landed next to it and grab it to fight the Dragonian Warriors. Hearing the mentioned of souls, Arin uses the blade and finds out that the Chaos Dragon gains power from consuming souls. After using the healing elixir, Arin uses the blade again and sees the souls moving on, while Lloyd's soul return to his body but the Forbidden Five's souls remained in Thunderfang. Arin took the blade after he choose to leave with Ras.
Human Resources[]
Arin used the blade to battle the Dragonian Warriors who were draining souls in Abracalabria. However, the blade was broken in the battle. Despite that, Sora managed to create a lantern using the other broken piece with Technology.
Under the Light of a Mechanical Moon[]
Arin used the broken Returning Blade when fighting the Spectral Dragonians Warriors led by Zarkt in the Land of Lee. Later, when the Ninja arrived at the Spectral Lands, Arin used the damaged Returning Blade to battle the Dragonians, until they were forced to retreat to the Spectral Monastery and ended up at the City of Temples.

Trivia[]
- The Returning Blade stands out among the Prismatic Blades because it is shorter than the others, making it a dagger or short sword looking like a wakizashi.
- This makes it one of the three Prismatic Blades distinguished by its unique design, with the other two being the yellow and blue Prismatic Blade.
- Although in the sets it is not represented by any specific piece as all the Prismatic Blades have the same design, being normal katana piece, there is a piece from 2024 only existing in golden, that looks exactly like the Returning Blade, being a shorter katana.
