“Yes, ninja. It's up to us to save the day... again.”
Cole to the ninja in "Day of the Departed"

The Rock Roader is an all-terrain buggy-like vehicle driven by Cole. It was originally built by Monkey Wretch on the Dark Island for Clouse and the Sky Pirates but was eventually commandeered by the Black Ninja. Cole later used it as his method of transport on the Day of the Departed. He used it until it was damaged by the Vermillion.

History

Dark Island Trilogy, Part 3

The Rock Roader was one of several vehicles built by Monkey Wretch at the behest of Clouse and was infused with Dark Matter. However, it was purified after Cole took ownership of it.

Day of the Departed

On the Day of the Departed, Cole used the vehicle to drive through the desert, en-route to the Ninjago Museum of History alongside the Ultra Stealth Raider and Titanium Ninja Tumbler. On the way, Cole's ghostly arms began to fade away and he briefly lost control of the vehicle. Fortunately, he quickly regained control and continued on to the museum.

Cole left the vehicle outside of the museum before driving it to Yang's Temple, where he planned to settle his debt with Master Yang. Cole left the vehicle far below the floating temple during his confrontation. It was reclaimed afterward.

Scavengers

Cole arrived in the city on his Rock Roader to fight the Vermillion. Later, he used it to ride to the Mega Monster Amusement Park to fight the snakes again.

A Line in the Sand

Cole drove on his Rock Roader to the amusement park to stop the Vermillion from taking all the metal.

Later, the ninja drove on their vehicles to find the Slow-Mo Time Blade. However, Cole crashed when Raggmunk threw snakes at him.

Secrets Discovered

Cole took the Rock Roader to go to the museum to find clues about where the Vermillion Dome of Doom is located.

Trivia

  • This is one of the few vehicles to be used in seasons after its debut.
  • This is third car owned by Cole, the first two being Tread Assault and Earth Driller.
  • The set form of this car has a detachable flyer at the back. The show does not feature this function. It is, however, used by Cole in the alternate Chinese version of "Day of the Departed," titled "Attack of the Cursed Specters."
