Saeko is a resident of Two Moon Village and Min's mother.
History[]
Garmadon Issue 1[]
Saeko and her daughter, Min, were gathering Glimwillow Lilies so the villagers could produce more Two Moon Tea for the Red Crows. However, they were both attacked by a bear, and Saeko injured her leg. A man arrived and attempted to fight the bear by using his powers, but only to realized that they weren't working.
Saeko and Min saved the man by throwing acorns at the bear, which gave him a chance to defeat it. Saeko then discovered that the man who saved her and her daughter was actually Garmadon, and told him that the people of Two Moon Village have heard of him. Saeko asked Garmadon if he could help her and her daughter, but he refused. However, he changed his mind after Saeko said that the village could hold a feast for him after what he did. But Saeko had trouble walking, so Garmadon let her ride on his back and the three went to Two Moon Village.
When Saeko and Min returned to the village, they told everyone that Lord Garmadon had saved them. Renzo then brought her a cup of Two Moon Tea, which she drank, and her injured leg healed quickly.
Garmadon Issue 2[]
The next evening, Saeko furiously approached the village elders, Renzo and his brother Kenzo, demanding to know why they let her daughter go with Garmadon and the Two Moon Village Commandos in search of Kuma. The frightened brothers told her that Min insisted she go alongside the group, and that if anything, Min probably knew Glimwillow Woods better than anyone else in the village and Garmadon was there to protect her as well. This answer slightly satisfied Saeko, who then turned the conversation towards the Red Crows, wondering if they would be upset if the villagers gave Garmadon all the tea that had been prepared as tribute to the biker gang. Moments later, the Red Crows and their leader, Lord Mogra, arrived to deliver a message for Garmadon - specifically by razing the village to the ground. Saeko was later seen running for her life as the Red Crows began their attack throughout the village, setting everything in sight on fire.
Garmadon Issue 3[]
As Two Moon Village burned, Saeko returned to her home and armed herself with a frying pan before being confronted by Killow, Francis, and another biker. Saeko stood her ground and furiously warned the bikers that she "Knew how to use" the frying pan, though the bikers laughed off her threat. Mere seconds later, she struck Francis with the frying pan and knocked him out, adding, "I warned you!" An unimpressed Killow denounced Saeko's attack on Francis, just as Min arrived at the burning home, having been looking for her mother. Killow remarked snidely that Min had arrived just in time and grabbed the girl, hoisting her into the air while musing, "An eye for an eye." Before Killow could strike Min, however, Garmadon entered the home and recognized Killow during the latter's service as one of Garmadon's generals under the now defunct Sons of Garmadon. Garmadon demanded answers from Killow, and after learning that the SoG now served another master, Garmadon angrily hurled the large man through the roof of Saeko and Min's home, smashing a large hole through it, much to Saeko's dismay.
Later, while watching the duel between Garmadon and Mogra, the village elders and the Two Moon Village Commandos caught up with Saeko and Min, telling the mother and daughter that they all had to escape the village while they still could. When Min protested, Saeko told her daughter that the elders were right, adding that they should never have gotten involved with powerful beings such as Garmadon and Mogra in the first place. As the group fled Two Moon Village, Min protested that they had to turn back to save Garmadon, provoking Saeko into declaring that Garmadon was not worth risking their lives to save. Min nevertheless ignored her mother's comments and rushed back to the village, much to Saeko's distress.
Garmadon Issue 4[]
Sometime after Mogra's victory over Garmadon, Saeko secretly returned to Two Moon Village to steal food and supplies. As she hid behind the barrels of Two Moon Tea to fill a small pouch with, Saeko overheard Mogra's proclamation of renaming the village to "New Mograton" and his intentions of turning it into the new headquarters of the Red Crows. Upon returning to camp with the other escaped villagers, the elders asked Saeko about the status of the village, to which she grimly replied was "Real bad," before relaying what she had heard from Mogra's speech. Unfortunately, the elders became fixated on the technicalities of the word "new" in "New Mograton" and began to debate it, much to Saeko's annoyance.
At a later time that evening, the Two Moon Village Commandos returned to the campsite with Min and Garmadon, having discovered the two resting in the woods. Min asked her mother if they could give Garmadon the Two Moon Tea that she had taken so that he could recover, much to Saeko's shock and utter disbelief. Saeko refused to give Garmadon the tea, branding him a monster and declaring that the tea was all they had left to remind them of the home they had left behind. Saeko relented however when her daughter revealed she wanted to give the tea to Garmadon, not because she thought Garmadon could defeat Mogra, but because he was hurt, leading Saeko to realize that she had forgotten that they need to do the right thing for the good of others. After pouring the tea into Garmadon's mouth, Saeko and the rest of the villagers watched as Garmadon was enveloped in blinding light, shielding her daughter away from the intense glow.
Garmadon Issue 5[]
The next morning, Saeko and the rest of the villagers found Garmadon gazing at his reflection in a nearby stream. Having expected for Garmadon to depart, Saeko told him that Min just wanted to return Garmadon's hat, which the former dark lord sheepishly accepted. Sometime later, as the group was going over their battle plans, Garmadon, having had a change of heart, returned to join them. Together, they liberated Kuma and allied themselves with the Bears of Glimwillow Woods, forming an army sizable enough to take on Mogra and the Red Crows. During the battle, Saeko and Min wielded frying pans as they fought against the Red Crows. After Mogra became supercharged as a result of Garmadon's meddling and prepared to dive bomb into the village to take everyone with him, Saeko was seen tearily hugging her daughter as they braced for their ends. Fortunately, Garmadon managed to save the day, unleashing his Oni Form and seemingly disintegrating Mogra with a blast of Destruction. Following the battle, Saeko, Min, and the elders watched as the defeated Red Crows were forced to repair the damages to the village. Moments later, Bron approached the group, carrying Garmadon's helmet, which was all that remained of Mogra. Saeko wondered if Garmadon wanted his old helmet back, to which Min replied she would go and ask him, only to discover that Garmadon had already departed the village, leaving it behind to continue his journey.
