The Samurai X Cave is an underground base of the ninja built by Nya in the Sea of Sand. It served as her personal headquarters and storage for her various machines, vehicles, and gear, when she was Samurai X. During the Nindroid crisis, Garmadon and Lloyd entered the cave to get Nya's car, which they used in their effort to escape the Nindroid Army and prevent them from capturing Lloyd.

Following the defeat of the Golden Master, Wu and Nya began rebuilding Destiny's Bounty in the cave. When the Elemental Masters returned from Chen's Island, they met up at the cave to discuss their plan of action, as the second Serpentine War was about to commence. Sometime later, Morro and several of his allies entered the cave to steal some of the gear there. Ronin and Nya tried to stop them, but Ghoultar corrupted Nya's Samurai Mech. Sometime later, Wu assembled the ninja at the cave to tell them Ronin and Misako went missing on the Dark Island.

After the Monastery of Spinjitzu was destroyed by the Council of the Crystal King, the ninja moved to the Samurai X Cave and made it their new base.

History

Rise of the Snakes

When Nya became Samurai X, she built her secret base to store her Samurai Mech and other vehicles in the cave system in the Sea of Sand. She later programmed the Falcon to know the location of the cave.

Rebooted

The Art of the Silent Fist

Garmadon and Lloyd head to the Samurai Cave to retrieve Nya's car in order to get as far away as possible from the Overlord.

Tournament of Elements

Versus

After creating plans for the reconstruction of the Destiny's Bounty, Wu and Nya went to the Samurai Cave where they began rebuilding the ship. While they were working on it, Misako arrived reporting she had yet to receive word from Garmadon or the ninja. Wu decides they must expand their search and Nya departs in the D.B. Express.

Spellbound

Misako attempted to use the cave's computer to contact Nya and Dareth but did not receive a response from either of them.

The Day of the Dragon

Wu and Misako communicated with Nya at the Cave.

The Greatest Fear of All

The Elemental Masters met up with Wu and Misako at the cave to discuss their plan of action, as the Anacondrai warriors had arrived in Ninjago. The alliance formulated a plan to spread out and attack Chen's noodle trucks, which were transporting Chen's Anacondrai-turned followers.

The Corridor of Elders

Following the separation of the Elemental Masters, Lloyd had Neuro send a message to the other Masters, telling them to regroup in the cave. After doing so, they came up with the plan of stopping the Anacondrai imposters in the Corridor of Elders.

Possession

The Temple on Haunted Hill

At the Cave, the Ghost Warriors possessed the Samurai Mech, which she and Ronin failed to get back. As her Samurai equipment does no harm to Ghosts, they had to flee.

Dark Island Trilogy, Part 1

Following Misako and Ronin disappearing on the Dark Island, Wu summoned the ninja to the Samurai X Cave where he explained to them the situation.

The Hands of Time

A Time of Traitors

Nya, Jay and Cole take Zane to the cave to try reboot him since Cyrus Borg was kidnapped by Acronix and Krux and wasn't able to help him with his technology anymore. Later, Zane suddenly wakes up and spills out some random numbers before falling again.

Scavengers

While the rest of the Ninja returned to the Temple of Airjitzu, Nya volunteered to stay behind to find a way to repair Zane. Although she was able to get him to fully reboot, Zane's neural pathways remained scrambled, leaving Nya stumped as how to fix him. Believing that Zane needed a new binary power core, she briefly left the cave in search of one. When she returned, she discovered to her horror that several Vermillion Warriors had infiltrated the cave to steal any and all bits of metal that weren't stapled to the ground, including Zane and Nya's Samurai X suit.

After fending off the Vermillion, Nya brought Zane with her to the Ultra Sonic Raider and the pair left the cave to regroup with the rest of the Ninja to deal with the Vermillion.

Secrets Discovered

While the rest of the Ninja investigated the Ninjago Museum of History, Nya returned to the Samurai X Cave, suspecting that the new Samurai X had returned to steal more of her stuff. As Nya expected, she indeed found the new Samurai inside the cave, prompting a brief fight as the new Samurai repeatedly changed their voice in an effort to disguise their identity. Throughout the fight, Nya saw through the Samurai's guises and insisted that they reveal their true identity, though the Samurai refused. Eventually, the Samurai explained their refusal, explaining that their friends and allies could be hurt if others knew their identity, pointing out that Nya knew this too once when she wore the mantle of Samurai X. Finally relenting, Nya agreed to bequeath her equipment, cave. and mantle to the new Samurai, having given up the mantle after she became the ninja of Water. However, Nya requested for the Samurai to pick a new color scheme, emphasizing that red was her color as Samurai X.

Samurai X Rising

Heeding Nya's request to pick a new color, the new Samurai X changes the suit's coloration from red to blue. The Samurai then practices her swordplay with a katana before sheathing it along her back and driving out of the cave inside the Samurai VXL.

Crystalized

Darkness Within

Nya brought Kai, Zane, Jay, and Cole to the Samurai X Cave after explaining that they were going to use it as their new base following the destruction of the Monastery. Meanwhile, Wu, Skylor, and P.I.X.A.L. just finished setting up the cave's computer systems right as the ninja entered.

The Coming of the King

The ninja worked on the construction of a new vehicle inside the Samurai X Cave when they received notification from the cave's computers that Lloyd's tracking device had come online once more. They then began making plans and preparations to rescue the team leader from Primeval's Eye.

Crystastrophe

P.I.X.A.L. and Skylor were at the cave watching the attack on the farmers' village from the main screen, P.I.X.A.L. asked the four ninja if they were able to steal one of the crystals that power the Vengestone spears to be able to test on them.

A Lesson in Anger

After an unsuccessful battle in the Farmers' village. the ninja retreated to the Samurai X Cave with a piece of Infectious crystal in tow. The ninja were then reacquainted with Garmadon who attempted to teach Lloyd the secrets of achieving his Oni form within the cave.

Compatible

MiniPix Seven completed assembly and programming for the Ninja Ultra Combo Mech inside the cave, then flew it to the Newspaper warehouse.

Quest for the Lost Powers

Following the Final prophecy of Quanish the Elder, Zane and P.I.X.A.L. journeyed to the Samurai X cave to study ways of restoring Zane's elemental power of Ice. During their time there, the two developed a machine that would allow the user to 'enter' their memories as an observer. With this device, Zane confronted his past as the Ice Emperor and made peace with his past misdeeds. After forgiving himself, Zane's powers returned to him.

Trivia

A comparison of the dragon skeleton

• In "The Art of the Silent Fist," when Lloyd and Garmadon enter the cave, an unknown vehicle can be seen in the background. It looks similar to Samurai X bike from set 70596 Samurai X Cave Chaos.
• Presumably after the Final Battle, Nya retired her boomerang and hung it in the Samurai X Cave as a memento.
• When asked about the circumstances surrounding the skeleton that guards the cave, Tommy Andreasen said, "Assume anything you will. The mystery has merit."
• Prior to "The Art of the Silent Fist", the Falcon and Nya were the only beings to know the secret location of the cave.
• The cave visible in Crystalized undergone many change due its redesign by WildBrain:
  • The dragon skeleton above the cave has a changed design. The most noticeable changes are its increase in size and the added teeth in the front and the horns on the top of the head.
  • The Samurai X symbol that was represented in the middle of the main platform is no longer present.
  • The main computer and the checkpoint of the base were before on the left side of the platform and are now at the center in front of the bridge (making the base more symmetrical) at the place where was the entrance for the vehicles.
  • The entrance of the vehicles in now by the dragon skeleton mouth which previously gave access to a staircase so was only a pedestrian access, when the vehicles' entrance was on the other side of the cave.
