Prior to The Tale of Benthomaar[]
At some point, King Trimaar locked forbidden scrolls in a vault lest his son find them.
The Tale of Benthomaar (flashback)[]
As a teenager, Benthomaar showed Kalmaar some scrolls about Wojira.
Kalmaar located a forbidden sea scroll and took it to Trimaar, and he forbid him from entering the Tartarus Trench.
The Storm Amulet[]
When Kalmaar learned of the Island of the Keepers from Nya, he had all the sea scrolls searched to find any mention of the island.
Eventually, Glutinous manages to find a small dot on one of the maps in the scrolls that brings to Kalmaar to the Merlopian Palace. The King finally decides it is an island and decides to go there.
