Season 10 of LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, subtitled March of the Oni, was preceded by Season 9 and Tales from the Monastery of Spinjitzu. It continues the story that starts in Season 8. There is no mascot, nor is there a focus character.[2]. The Oni serve as this season's villainous faction.
Bragi Schut, who previously worked on both Sons of Garmadon and Hunted, is the lead writer.[3] The Hageman Brothers are involved with the creation of the story but are not the script writers. While being only four episodes, it has also alternatively been edited into a feature-length TV film,[4][5] spanning 88 minutes (one hour and 28 minutes).
The first teaser was released on December 16, 2018.[6] The first trailer was released on December 20, 2018.[7]

Trivia
- The English teaser, created by Wilfilm and Tommy Andreasen, was released on December 16, 2018.
- The first English trailer, was revealed on December 20, 2018 on the LEGO Life App.
- Tommy Andreasen stated that this season serves as "a conclusion of a 24 episode arc."[8] This may mean that any loose ends left open at the end of "Green Destiny" will be concluded by the end of these four episodes.
- Though Tommy Andreasen doesn't personally consider March of the Oni a season,[9] it is officially recognized as Season 10.
- This is the second season in a row to not have a focus character.
- March of the Oni is planned to be released in early 2019.[10]
- It is only a small part of the six hours of content planned for 2019.
- On July 15, 2018, Tommy Andreasen tweeted a sneak peek image for Ninjago's storyline in 2019.[11] It was revealed in full detail during San Diego Comic Con on July 22, 2018, and will be about Jay proposing to Nya.
- Tommy Andreasen stated that Jay's proposal to Nya may not have to do with marriage.[12]
- Tommy Andreasen stated that episode 97 is "the most intense episode in the series yet."[13] He also stated that episode 97 is his favorite.[14]
- When asked for spoilers, Tommy Andreasen ominously replied with, ". . . one ninja will fall. . . ."[15] He also stated ". . . one ninja will make a fatal mistake. . . ." and ". . . one director will try to downplay just how much pain those dear ninja will have to endure. . . ."[16][17]
- Dareth, Faith, and Cyrus Borg are set to appear in this season.
- The final episode of Hunted, "Green Destiny," hinted that future villains would be the Oni, as Lloyd believes they are coming. It was confirmed in the new trailer that the Oni are indeed coming.
- A clip was released (in its early animation) of Jay practicing asking out Nya with Kai in the Monastery of Spinjitzu. It is revealed through the clip that the emblem is what Jay uses to ask Nya to be his "Yang."[20]
- The original Monastery is as good as new in the clip, despite being burned down by the Hypnobrai in Season 1 and again accidentally by Kai in Season 7. It appears that two people are reattaching the door of the Monastery, meaning that the Ninja are restoring it and have moved back into it as their home base.
- It was confirmed in the summary for a book that the Monastery was rebuilt by the Ninja.[21]
- Tommy Andreasen also stated that the episodes of this season will have an intro sequence but that it will be different from any of the previous ones.[22][23]
- It was once again revealed on Tommy Andreasen's Twitter, that Ninjago would be around "for a long time."[24]
- During the San Diego Comic Con panel, Tommy Andreasen revealed that the season's name spoils the end of Hunted. The name was revealed to be "March of the Oni," meaning that it must spoil Garmadon's warning to his son.
- There will be scenes of the Ninja casually hanging out, similar to when the Ninja were playing a video game in the first season.[25]
- By the end of September 11, 2018, animation for this season was done, and two episodes had finished rendering.[26] On November 16, 2018, production of the season was deemed complete, and a wrap party was held.
- The season is dedicated to William "Scott" Godon-Decoteau, whom was a driving force in the production of Skybound, Possession, and The Hands of Time. He passed away in an accident on October 10, 2018.
- On November 16, 2018, Tommy Andreasen announced on his Twitter that the original 4 episodes announced at Comic Con would be edited into a feature-length TV film,[27] as well that production was nearly complete. They mentioned that it would "be the film fans of the TV canon deserve" and that it would be dedicated in memory of Godon-Decoteau's passing.
- In the same tweet, Tommy Andreasen revealed that there will be "some more content coming your way" before the season airs. This turned out to be the Tales From the Monastery of Spinjitzu mini-series.
- Tommy Andreasen posted concept art of a scene of International Ninja Day 2019, with the Ninja standing in a line, and Lloyd in the center. He revealed that Lloyd would not be standing in the center of the finished version of that scene.[28]
- Zane appears in his new titanium head print from the Season 8 and Season 9 sets. His human cloak now has his LEGO Ninjago Movie/Snake Jaguar eyebrows.
- This will be the first season since Rebooted not to have 10 episodes, making it the shortest season to date.
- This season will be the first time the Realm Crystal appears since Season 6: Skybound.
- Nya has a new dress that resembles her original dress.
- It will be subtly addressed if the other characters (besides Jay and Nya) are aware of Nadakhan.[29]
- The pack containing Oni villains was released as a LEGO Store exclusive on January 1.
