Trivia
- According to Bragi Schut, as of July 29, 2019, the final draft of a future season finale had been completed and it will be "very emotional."[14][15] The standard production time of Ninjago episodes (9-10 months after the completion of the final script) would suggest this to be referring to this season.
- According to Tommy Andreasen, the final episode of this season will feature fantastic choreography by WildBrain.[16]
- He refers to it as a chapter instead of a season, though he also did the same for Prime Empire before it was released.
- Bragi Schut said that he has a "particular soft spot" for writing this season.[17]
- The Ninja and Wu are referred to as heroes on the set boxes (ex: Hero Wu), indicating the name of this season's suits.
- Four of the sets from Season 13 can be built together to create a board game.
- The Ninja have armor similar to medieval knights over their Season 11 gis, aside from Lloyd who has a completely new gi underneath the armor.
- This is the third season in a row where the Ninja use their Season 11 suits at one point in the season.
- The primary setting that the Ninja explore this season is the Dungeons of Shintaro, within the bowels of Shintaro Mountain.
- The collectible weapons featured in this season are the Ivory and Shadow Blades of Deliverance.
- This is the first season where no wheeled vehicles appear as sets.
- According to Tommy Andreasen in the live-chat of a stream hosted by Joshua Deck on YouTube, this season will have "a lot of backstory and character elaboration".[18]
- Despite many sources claiming Season 13 is part of Season 12, they are two separate "chapters".[19]
- This is due to cable networks buying both seasons as one instead of making two separate purchases.
- Information regarding the season's background and the Ninjas' roles was revealed in the sets' official Play Guide. The download link to the guide is available on the official LEGO website.[20][21]
- Cole is journeying with a group called the Upply to unlock the power of Spinjitzu Burst and fulfill a promise to make his mother proud. He wants to accomplish that by fighting a foe that she once fought. Meanwhile, the other Ninja are split into groups and trying to unite the Munce (Nya, Jay, and Lloyd) and the Geckles (Kai and Zane) against the Skull Sorcerer and his Awakened Warriors. Expanded information is present in the Play Guide.
- Master of the Mountain is the first season to have The Weekend Whip as the opening theme song, and not have "Jump Up, Kick Back, Whip Around and Spin" as one of the lyrics in the TV size version of the song.
- With this season having only 16 episodes (equal to eight 22-minute episodes), it is as long as Season 3 and Season 12. It's also tied as the second shortest season after Season 10.
- It is the second straight season to only have sixteen episodes with the previous season beginning the trend.
- This is the first season to not feature Dareth since his debut in Season 2.
- This season marks:
- P.I.X.A.L.'s smallest role in the entire series since her debut in Rebooted, only appearing in the season premiere.
- The first appearance of Misako and the Postman since "Endings", 46 episodes ago by the time they appear in "Shintaro".
- Lou's first appearance since "Pause and Effect", 82 episodes ago by the time he appears in "Dungeon Crawl!".
