Noncanon "That's not what happened at all!"

This topic is considered non-canon because it contradicts the TV series.

“Millennia ago, the Serpentine Stone was created. Inscribed upon it was the history of the four snake tribes.”

The Serpentine Stone is a Serpentine artifact detailing their histories and origin from the Great Devourer. It was split into four fragments and scattered by nature itself.

History[]

Tomb of the Fangpyre[]

Wu tells the ninja about the stone, and tasks them with retrieving its fragments.

Kai finds the first fragment in the mouth of a statue of Fangtom.

Jay finds the second fragment within the trunk of a tree in a jungle. Fangpyre warriors attack him, sending the stone into the sky, and Jay catches it in his Storm Glider.

Zane finds the third fragment within the waters of the "Northern Ocean" where a large Shark chases him to shore.

Cole and a young Lloyd dig for the fourth fragment in the ruins of a city "far to the north." They are ambushed and captured by Fangtom and the Fangpyre and are brought to the Fangpyre Tomb. Eventually, they are freed and Lloyd cons Fangtom into giving him the fourth fragment.

Some time later, the ninja meet with Wu on the Destiny's Bounty, where they assemble the full Serpentine Stone.

Appearance[]

The stone is large and glows lime green. It has several inscriptions on it detailing the history of the Serpentine. It reads as follows:

"Once, when the world of Ninjago was new, all things were bright and peaceful.

Farmers toiled in their fields, in harmony with all the creatures of land, sea, and air.

But in all things, there must be a balance. And so darkness crept upon the land, and came upon a lone snake in the grass.

The darkness touched the common snake with its power...

And the snake grew and grew, becoming evil and twisted as it did so.

Until it became a great serpent, with awesome strength and a fierce desire to conquer the world of Ninjago.

And the great serpent reached out with its power, and brought forth four tribes of snake-men on the world of Ninjago...

The fiendish Fangpyre...

The criminal Constrictai...

The hateful Hypnobrai...

And the vengeful Venomari.

These four tribes of the Serpentine threatened to conquer Ninjago, and it seemed impossible to stop them.

It took the creation of golden flutes to give the human inhabitants of this world the chance for victory.

Using the flutes, the Serpentine were driven into tombs and sealed away... it was hoped, forever.

But the Great Serpent was not defeated, merely delayed... and now it slumbers, waiting for the time when it will return again to menace Ninjago anew...

And confident that none in this world know its secret."[1]

Trivia[]

  • The darkness referenced in the stone's tale is most likely the Overlord.
    • This is supported by the Overlord confessing that he corrupted the Great Devourer within Crystalized.
