Shu is a resident of Two Moon Village and a member of the Two Moon Village Commandos.
History[]
Garmadon Issue 2[]
As a member of the Two Moon Village Commandos, Shu the Farmer and his compatriots, Lan the Hunter, and Bron the Blacksmith, accompanied Garmadon in his mission to defeat Kuma, the guardian of Glimwillow Woods, as per the request of Renzo and Kenzo, the elders and village leaders of Two Moon Village. At nightfall, the trio discussed carrying out Garmadon's request to awaken him when night fell, during which Shu suggested that they prod him, leading Lan to suggest that he do it. Panicked by the suggestion, and fearing that Garmadon might vaporize him, Shu called her crazy in response. Overhearing their conversation, Garmadon startled the trio by calmly informing them that if he were to vaporize them, it would be an intentional and deliberate act, one without hesitation or remorse. Now fully awake, the former dark lord led the way onward, with the Commandos following his lead. Upon arriving at Kuma's lair, Shu admitted that none of the Commandos had actually seen Kuma for themselves, only knowing that the trees shook whenever she roared. At that moment, a particularly large bear covered with scars emerged from the forest, whom the group mistook as Kuma. Garmadon was quick to attack the bear, but wound up eaten alive by the large animal, which then turned its attention to the Commandos who fled for their lives alongside Min, who had accompanied them as their guide through the Glimwillow Woods. As they ran, Shu shouted for anyone to save them, provoking Lan to angrily retort that Garmadon couldn't save them because the bear ate him, blaming Min for having Bron toss an entire barrel of Two Moon Tea at the former dark lord while he struggled in the bear's jaws. Fortunately, Garmadon, now in his Oni Form, managed to escape the bear's jaws and blasted it away, declaring victory over Kuma and amazing the Commandos, with Shu remarking that Garmadon had felled "Kuma" in one blow. Unfortunately, moments later, the real Kuma awakened, revealing herself to be almost as large as the lair itself. With a single swipe of her paw, Kuma easily swatted away Garmadon and the Commandos, though Garmadon managed to win in the end by slashing the stalactites on the ceiling with Bron's sword until a large portion of the ceiling collapsed, burying Kuma beneath the rubble.
Garmadon Issue 3[]
As Garmadon's party returned to Two Moon Village in victory, Shu played a pair of cymbals as they celebrated, singing a song in Garmadon's praise and glory. Their singing would be cut short, however, as Two Moon Village came into view and the group realized the village was burning.
Later, Shu, the Commandos, and the village elders caught up with Saeko and Min, informing the mother and daughter that they all had to escape the village while they still could.
Garmadon Issue 4[]
Some time after the fall of Two Moon Village to the Red Crows, Shu and his compatriots found Min and an injured Garmadon camping in the forest. The duo were just about to be attacked by a trio of Red Crows who were patrolling the area, but fortunately the Commandos stepped in just in time to defeat the bikers, introducing themselves as Two Moon Village's staunchest defenders while mocking their fleeing adversaries, with Shu in particular making the 'staunchest defenders' claim. The Commandos brought Min and Garmadon back to camp with the other escaped villagers, and they watched as Saeko gave Garmadon their last pouch of Two Moon Tea, becoming enveloped in blinding light as his powers returned.
Garmadon Issue 5[]
The next morning, Shu and the rest of the villagers found Garmadon gazing at his reflection in a nearby stream. Anticipating his departure, Shu watched while Garmadon and Min said their goodbyes and both groups went their separate ways. Sometime later, the group went over their battle plans, in which Lan would fire warning shots with her arrows while Bron and Shu would blow a hole in the village wall and help as many villagers escape as possible. Their planning however, would be interrupted as Garmadon, having had a change of heart, returned to join them. Together, the group set out to liberate Kuma, with Bron and Shu in charge of setting the dynamite to free her from the rubble that Garmadon had imprisoned her beneath. As they placed the explosives down, Garmadon referred to Shu as, "The Short One," and snapped at him to move the detonator back or he would accidentally blow everyone up. In response, Shu angrily replied that he and Bron knew what they were doing. After freeing Kuma, the group of villagers allied themselves with the Bears of Glimwillow Woods and formed an army sizable enough to take on Mogra and the Red Crows.
Shu then participated in the Liberation of Two Moon Village, aiding in freeing his home from the control of the Red Crows and Mogra. Following the battle, Shu rode atop a bear while watching the defeated bikers repair the damages they had inflicted upon the village.
