These are the relationships of the current Snake King, Skales.

Family

Selma

“I cannot. I have a family to protect.”

Selma is Skales' wife. They fell in love and got married in the Serpentine village.

Skales' family

He appears to love his wife and often stays by her side, although not much more about their relationship is known beyond that.

In "The Curse of the Golden Master," she and Skales speak to the ninja, when they ask about their legend, Skales refuses to tell them, but Selma encourages him by saying that it may help with their attempts to build a new life, and he listens. He expresses concern for his family's safety when the Nindroids attack.

In "Secrets Discovered," he again expresses concern for his family when asked about the Vermillion.

Skales Jr.

Skales Jr. is the son of both Skales and Selma.

Skales appears to love his son, shielding him from danger. He seems to be quite protective of his son indicating he cares much for him. He does, however, seem to be dismissive or show disapproval of his fascination with humans and the surface.

In "The Curse of the Golden Master," Skales introduces the ninja to his son, claiming they have been busy and have started a new life. He shows fury when the ninja lead the Nindroids to his family, upset that they have endangered their safety.

In "The Corridor of Elders," Skales and his son are seen together listening to Zane's speech, they are also seen assisting in the fight.

In "Secrets Discovered," Skales and his son help the ninja locate the Vermillion. When asked if he would join them, Skales tells them he has to look out for his own, likely referring to Selma and Skales Jr.

Fangtom and Skales

Skales and Fangtom are old friends.

In "Never Trust a Snake," both Skales and Fangtom cease their planned attack on one another after realizing that their respective enemy is an old chum. Skales then tells Fangtom about Lloyd, and they both begin arguing about what to do with him. Lloyd wonders what had happened because he thought they were at war. Fangtom tells him they were previously at war, but now that Skales leads the Hypnobrai, he sees no reason not to be comrades.

Pythor and Skales

Skales was Pythor's second-in-command.

After Pythor released the Constrictai and Venomari, Skales came in contact with Pythor and helped him to bring the Serpentine tribes together. Skales assisted Pythor in his quest to obtain the Fangblades and unleash the Great Devourer, although he does express some concerns for the plan in the beginning, saying that Pythor was chasing children's stories. Nevertheless, Skales remained loyal to him for quite some time and often fought by his side, advised, or protected him against the ninja. This loyalty was short-lived however, as after Pythor's presumed death at the hands of the Devourer, Skales realized the depth of his actions and fled alongside his fellow serpentine, hiding out in the Fangpyre tomb and denied knowing what would occur to Fangtom.

Afterwards, he quickly took the opportunity to seize Pythor's station for himself.

In Pythor's Revenge Skales wasn't very happy to see Pythor's return thinking that he was connected to Anacondrai war. After Pythor's failed attempt to show the BorgWatch technology, Skales told him that his desperation has overstepped all boundaries and even made him look ridiculous.

Enemies

Ninja (formerly)

Originally enemies, though over the course of the series, they became allies.

In Season 3, Skales tells the ninja of what he and the other Serpentine have been up to since their exile. Seeing that he is now happy with his family, the ninja defended him from the attacks of the Nindroids.

The ninja and Skales

During Season 4 and 7, Skales helps the ninja with the Anacondrai Cult and Time Twins, being a valuable ally in both times.

In Season 11, he is reluctant to help them, even though they now regard him as a friend for all his help. Skales questioned if they really are such, though helps them out.

In Season 14, he attended Nya's memorial with Acidicus after she merges with the Endless Sea to stop Wojira.

In Season 15, he aids the Ninja with his tribe in the final battle against the Crystal army and later cheers after the Overlord is defeated.

Lloyd

Skales, Slithraa and Lloyd

Lloyd was formerly an enemy of Skales, despite having been the one who released his kind from their tombs, Skales has been shown to have a hatred and annoyance of Lloyd and had no respect for him in the past.

Skales disapproved of Lloyds childish agenda during Season 1, but was ultimately forced to obey him through Slithraa, the Hypnobrai general at the time whom had been hypnotized by the young Lloyd. After beating Slithraa in a Slither Pit match and seizing control over the Hypnobrai tribe, one of Skales' first orders was to exile Lloyd, warning him not to return.

Lloyd, now exiled, unleashed the Fangpyre tribe in an effort to gain revenge upon Skales, although ultimately they turned against him.

It is unknown what Skales thinks of him currently.

Garmadon (formerly)

“Do you not remember he was just helping the ninja? Now you blindly follow him because of his wizardry? He's not even a Serpentine.”

Garmadon and Skales

When Garmadon met the Serpentine in "Darkness Shall Rise," Skales was surprised to see him and gained more hatred to him as the former took control of the Serpentine army.

In "Ninjaball Run," Skales arrives in time to save Garmadon from being arrested, smugly telling him of how he was now the one who required help.

In "Child's Play," Skales mocked Garmadon when he failed to resurrect the Grundle.

In "The Stone Army," Skales became tired of being pushed around by Garmadon and saw an opportunity of getting rid of him when he was looking for the Dark Island.
