Smoke is an element in Ninjago. It is associated with the colors gray and light orange and corresponds with the Elemental Smoke Dragon.

Users' abilities

• Typhokinesis - It allows the user to manipulate, generate, and become smoke, often to shoot smoke balls, become immune to smoke, or create smoke clouds.
  • Typhokinetic Body - As displayed by Ash, Skylor, Chen, and Cinder, the user can transform their body completely into smoke and avoid most of the attacks.
    • Typhokinetic Aura - As seen with Ash, some users can create an aura of smoke around themselves.
    • Intangibility - As displayed by Ash and Chen, the user can make attacks phase through them when they become smoke.
      • Density Shifting - The user can possibly change the density of their smoke body.
      • Smoke/Intangibility Infusion - The user can infuse objects with smoke to possibly make them intangible, as seen when Cinder came out of All-Realm Antiques Emporium with the Mallet of Shattering.
    • Undetectability - In smoke form, the user cannot be detected (possibly not even by body heat), as Cinder is said to have broken into many antique shops without being noticed.
    • Small Space Maneuvering - When the user is turned into smoke, they can move through small spaces, such as when Cinder moved through a crack under the door of All-Realm Antiques Emporium in "The Blood Moon".
    • Typhoportation - The user can teleport himself/herself to short distances using smoke.
    • Typhokinetic Blast - The user can release smoke over a specific target area, causing great damage and/or delivering shockwaves of pure force.
      • Typhokinetic Beam Emission - The user can fire beams of smoke.
    • Camouflage - When in smoke form, the user can possibly blend in with the smoke they create.
      • Invisibility - The user can likely become invisible when they turn into smoke.
    • Typhokinetic Flight - As displayed by Cinder when he attacked Wyldfyre in "Shattered Dreams", the user can propel themselves up or forward using smoke.
    • Choking - As Smoke is in the air, it could choke people around the user, or at least make it hard to breathe.
    • Tail Formation - The user can possibly transform their legs into a smoke-like tail.
  • Dragon Creation - The user can create a Smoke Dragon.

Weaknesses

• Exploitation/Prediction - As seen in "Versus", Kai managed to exploit Smoke during his fight with Ash by baiting him into using the power to dodge an attack, opening an opportunity to take the Jadeblade with Ash unable to stop him or take the blade himself due to being intangible. Additionally in "Shattered Dreams," opponents who have encountered a Master of Smoke before and had experiences fighting them can anticipate and counter their powers and be a lot faster than them.
• Technology Cage - As seen in "Rising Ninja," Sora managed to trap Cinder in a cage generated by her mech that disabled his elemental power.
• Lack of control - Inexperienced users can have trouble with Smoke, as seen when Sora tried to use it, she ended up choking.

One of the symbols of Smoke resembles a circular wave-like shape, similar to the symbol of Water. It is identical to the one of the Golden Master, except it's gray in color.

Trivia

• No user of Smoke has ever shown the ability to manipulate smoke that they did not create.
• Smoke is one of seven elements that allows the user to alter their body, the other six being Metal, Size, Light, Shadow, Form, and Swarm.
• In Dragons Rising, Cinder's hands turn light orange when he projects Smoke from his hands, and when he uses it go into smoke form or teleport, his hands glow grey.
